  1. Snapper, many thanks for that, but the system said log into your FACEBOOK account or ELSE !!!!!!!!!, ( only joking about the last ) great pics, may get to Bray in time to see that go by,

Thanks for the heads up, I will pass that on to the person who runs the facebook account to see if anything can be done, as far as I know the idea was to have them visible to everybody, account or not.

  2. A second loco will be needed for the run from Cobh to Killarney so I'd imagine the current Cork pilot (215 :D ) will end up on the tour for the rest of the week. Will the railtour be coming into Colbert station on the journey from Killarney to Ennis and will the loco and coaches be in Ennis for the night?

Its possible that the cork pilot may pull the train out to Cobh and the other loco will continue from there, I am not sure what the exact plan is.

The train has to go into Limerick to get to Ennis but I don't know if it will a simple run around or a loco swap. As far as I know the set will be stabled in Ennis overnight.

  3. Ah right, me too! :) I hope the mk2 livery and this livery becomes RPSIs standard livery as they look lovely! If the gatwicks ever get repainted I hope it's this livery....

Don't be so sure about a blue van, a slightly different plan may be afoot there :tumbsup:More details when a final decision is made

  4. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. The wait is over.

During the past few weeks, as part of the Railtours Ireland 'Emerald Isle Express', it was necessary to get the two remaining black and tan carriages painted to get them looking their best. With huge thanks to Iarnród Éireann, the bar and dining carriages, 1514 and 1522 were sprayed in the Paint Spray shop in Inchicore Works, completed today, 25th September 2014.

The livery chosen is not an exact railway company livery but more so reflects on our past railway heritage.

So now all that's left to wait for is for their first mainline trip in their new colours on Monday!

This idea of a land cruise by rail in a special train through Ireland coupled with luxury five star hotels,( and of course our own coach always shadowing the train for transfers, tours, and luggage ) - has never been done before and will firmly put Ireland on the increasingly popular world rail touring map!

But me thinks I'm just digging my self a bigger hole :dig:

Can I jump in that hole with ya because I love my canon 7D and 20D

  7. Awe :( Please no 'Canikon' debates, lets leave that to the 'fan buoys' on DpReview :)

:) It's just like iPhone v Android - They are not a religion, just consumer electronics that will collect dust on top of a wardrobe soon enough. Seriously, which ever system folks start with is the one they tend to stick with because of lenses acquired along the way. Canon and Nikon are equals on the DSLR patch.

The ultimate Canon vs Nikon shootout

  8. Here it is, http://www.translink.co.uk/Corporate/Work-With-Us/Current-Jobs/19619/
