In theory at least, presumably the maroon RPSI one would do?
Both RPSI BR vans are vacuum brake only, gangways wont connect and I also believe they would be electrically incompatible.
-
There are in the older ones that the DCDR and RPSI have. But there can be instances of the whole car failing - many a time.
Doesn’t need to be a generator failure to fail a gen van.
-
While I don't have a breakdown of the figures it may give you an idea of the costs, in 2014 the RPSI spent £411,927 on Loco maintenance and restoration and £37,234 on Carriage work.

134 was started today, I do love the hum of a baby gm

Four track on the dart line will never happen unfortunately as the city is just too small to bear the massive property cost. Just too small a population.
Plus the political will required to take that much property under a cpo, and the likely backlash that any party that pushed it would face.

Hi all,
would anyone know the estimated timetable for the Emerald Explorer Railtour on Thursday 16th June next? A friend and I are hoping to photograph the train as it passes through the Bray and Wicklow Town areas. If anyone would have an approximate time it would be most appreciated.
Thanks all,
Tommy.

I came across this, seems like a great way to make small amounts of filler and you can adjust the mixture to depending on how liquid or putty like you want it .

what is probably the modern shade of IE orange, ]
I believe that is due to there being some IE orange paint left but the older CIE orange being all gone.
-
Strange, there is normally a premium not a discount for factory weathered stock

I didn't see this here, apologies if it is already posted.
This seems to have been posted on the Murphys Models site 2nd of January
Happy New Year from Murphy ModelsAs you will have noticed, 2015 was a rather quiet year for Murphy Models, mainly through circumstances beyond our control. However, we will try to make up for it in 2016 .
First, the news everybody has been waiting for - Class 121 CAD drawings were started in December. It is expected that pre-production samples will be available for perusal at the MRSI October Show in
Raheny with a first delivery in time for Christmas. It is intendeded that the IE and original CIE grey will be first to arrive with CIE Black and Supertrain and IR versions to follow within 9-10 months.
Re-vamped MkII coaches in Supertrain livery are due to arrive mid-year. These will be an improvement on the original consignment following prolonged discussions with the factory! Note that these will have new fleet/catalogue numbers (to be advised) and are brand new models - not repaints.
Also on the horizon will be short runs of Class 201 locos in the interim livery and the latest Enterprise livery. Delivery schedule to be finalised.
Due to popular demand, we will produce the Craven restaurant car as fleet number 1509. No delivery date is available at present.
Finally, we will have a unique 1916 commemorative item. ETA June. You will have to wait for further details.
Any schedules referred to above are not cast in stone. Due to €/$ volatility, it is not possible to indicate prices at this time.
Watch this space!

So just what work is required that will take 14 months before the new service is operational?
Resignaling the city center, Connolly to grand canal. Altered track layout and new turn back facility at grand canal dock.
-
With the planned reinstatement, yes reinstatement of a regular Passenger Trains service through the Phoenix Park Tunnel, will this also mean Platform 10 is also brought back into use by these trains? Drumcondra, Connelly, Tara Street, Pearse and Grand Canal Dock Stations are all mentioned but not, Platform 10. To me it would make sense that trains also call here, despite the distance of this platform from the main concourse at Heuston Station. The connecting bus service could terminate at Platform 10.
There are no current plans to restore service to P10, the lack of crossovers means that trains coming from Kildare heading to Connolly cannot serve P10. They can only do it when going in the other direction
-
well the 2750s could run with 2700 or as a single car unit
Baby GMs move to Connolly.
