Health and Safety is fine until you end up with a manager like this
[video=youtube;d4n-amRJeyw]

In my view allowing IR to achieve operational savings by deconstructing rail infrastructure needs to be halted , separating running services from operating companies could help in that
That has already been done, as part of a previous EU railway package Irish Rail was split in two, The railway undertaking (RU) and The railway infrastructure manager (IM).

It is not in the appendix to the wtt, what you would need is a copy of the signaling rules and regulations
-
I've bought bargains on eBay myself, but some of the garbage offered by others for sake makes you think they are either seriously deluded or they've got a cheek!
As long as people keep buying it more will keep appearing, I remember back when the lima 201s were at their peak on ebay you saw all sorts of crap with "Irish Railways" in the title trying to get people interested.
-
I've just received one today.
Not me, not in my spam either. I will just sign up again and see if that fixes it.
-
In all fairness, the bidders probably did not know of the Sale at Marks Models. After all, many folk on this forum only became aware of the Sale when someone mentioned it here!
Now that you mention it, I used to get update emails from marks models but I don't seem to get them any more. Did they stop or is it just me?
-
I may have a few old rule books somewhere which I may be able to sell - if anyone's interested PM me and I'll have a delve.
pm sent
-
The rule books would have been based on a Railway Clearing House standard set of rules with little difference between the ones used here and the ones used in Britain.
Think Junctionmad is looking for something more specific to Irish/CIE conditions.
The ones I am talking about are the CIE signaling regulations for double and single lines. They do appear often on ebay
-
The rule books pop up on ebay every now and then for about a tenner.
-
It looks like the shunt disk and limit of shunt at the Dublin end of Claremorris were removed at some stage, I would guess at the same time that they took out the main junction to Athenry, I can see it in the video of the 141/121 running around in 1997 but not in the video of the 071 un 2003.
Also given that the 121 has two tail lamps fitted I would think it was heading back towards Athenry for some other duty rather than just running around or shunting.
-
another new picture from today for you

Ha, no worries... it happens to me, too. I must say I enjoyed browsing through those photos.
The problem for me with looking at old photos is I get grand ideas for layouts that I have no space to build

I am now having one of those why the hell didn't I think of that moments
