Is there a special name for the jig that you used to bend the curves on the tanks?

The Tv show model town was in the what to watch next section on you tube for me, A lot more for the more traditional modeller and probably a better representation of the hobby (although it's your model do what ever you want). 3 videos covering 15 episodes, about 6 hours of video. I also remember another show on discovery about building a model railway in the garden but I cant remember the name of it.

It generally denotes a point from which you can manually release any residual brake application.
Different locomotives exhauster (vacuum) or compressors (air pressure) can work slightly differently depending on condition ect. Let say loco 1 hauls some coaches and creates 24” of vacuum (that’s 24 inches of release), you then change to a different loco 2 but this loco can only create 21” of vacuum, you now have 3” of a brake application. You can use these valves to release any remaining vacuum and effectively reset to 0 so that when loco 2 creates 21” of vacuum the brakes are fully released.
The same principal applies to air brakes I just used vacuum as I am more familiar with that system.

Most of the things in this thread look careless or accidental, that looks deliberate

Agree. We did our first RPSI rail tour last October and quite enjoyed it, but personally diesel locos were not an attraction. One of the entertaining aspects of the rail tour was watching the 'paparazzi' in action whizzing up and down platforms and foot bridges chasing loco movements. Hopefully if there is a long steam tour next spring or summer we might give that a try.
A single day or a multi day? For multi day there is the May tour. Long single day by steam is a bit more complicated due to drivers hours, but Connolly to Rosslare is a nice day.
Just now, Warbonnet said:Would definitely love to see 131 come out to play down here, but I'm looking forward to the 121 returning the most tbh!
I am really looking forward to both, but its a long time since I heard the hum of a baby gm

Irish Broad gauge carriages a pictorial introduction, Desmond Coakham, page 87
QuoteThe three bogie coaches, Nos 24-26 of 1899/1900, built for the through boat trains from Belfast owed more in their layout to GNR influence in that they had lavatories for all three classes and a guards compartment at one end. Their dimensions were 50ft by 8Ft 6in though they were gas lit, doubtless much to GNR displeasure
It also mentions their later careers having already been mentioned (possibly in a different section of the book) but I can't seem to find it.

85 was held on the approach to Greystones to allow a down dart to arrive into the station and then proceed into the siding, the down Rosslare was sitting on the other platform, after getting the all clear the crew were unable to get the train moving (the cause is under investigation). While awaiting the arrival of a rescue loco from Connolly another dart arrived into Greystones, this second dart then failed on the platform in Greystones with a brake issue. The down Rosslare that had been sitting in Greystones was then sent back to Bray to allow the rescue loco to get through and rescue the RPSI train.
While that was happening the RPSI crew managed to get the train moving and brought it into the now empty platform. The failed dart was repaired and the departed for Bray.
The up Rosslare then arrived, as did 087. The up Rosslare departed, followed by the DART in the sidings, then down Rosslare then passed through (having previously been sent back to Bray) and then we departed for Connolly.
Arrival back into Connolly at 23.35

Well this would be my take on it,
1 Starting signal for departing trains
2 optional second departing signal for trains from the yard, but you could always just shunt to platform for departures and only have a shunt signal at the exit to the yard.
3 3 disks controlling movement to top goods yard, platform and bottom goods yard.
4 Disk controlling movement out of the top goods yard.
5 Controls movement from platform to headhunt
6Controls movement from bottom goods to headshunt
7 Controls movement from headhunt to goods
8 Home signal into platform, optional secondary signal into yard but the No3 shunt disk would work fine here.
All other points as hand points, no signaling required.
