  1. Lovely work popeye. Rich, give me a should when your etches are ready, will be taking a couple off you.
  2. I'm not surprised given the awful tat some of the Olympics merchandise was. Stupidly overpriced too. Hornby really need to get back to what they're good at too. After a number of years releasing some brilliant models they took their eye off the ball with this diversification and released some poorly received models like the 4-Vep. I am looking forward to seeing what their new 67 turns out like when my EWS one arrives.
  3. I'm sure one of the weathering gurus on here will replicate that for you!
  4. Maybe download the app? I use the apple version on my iphone and can access all areas. I'm sure there must be an android one too.
  5. Looks that way, would say it's similar to standard Kader made products.
  6. waggonfabrik I think? Super model, would love to get my hands on one, but Irish/British/American is enough as it is before going European too! I'm also debating which Westerns I would like to pick up. Already have a Heljan D1015 in Golden Oche, fancy a Maroon Small Yellow panel and a dirty banger blue one at least.
  7. I'll try to take a video of all the levels next time I'm down. Bare in mind though that to watch trains on the top level a step ladder is required!
  8. It's a pity they're out of service, they were attractive units externally. Pity that the seats made you feel like you're sitting on the toilet.
  9. Very nice, I believe Intermountain are doing regular SD40-2s in the near future. Will be interesting to see how they turn out as a definitive SD40-2 is needed. I have two over their GEVOs and they're nice locos.
  10. Only thing I'm not sure about is the real springs on the bogies, cosmetic only but they look a bit naff to be honest. I have a couple of the 22s and they're not a bad model, would be nicer with some tweaks and still not sure about the mechanism, she overheated on Brendan's layout, although that might have been the hornby sapphire decoder that was in it, which I'm not a fan of. Still, the wizzo looks fab, and they're doing a 73 too, can't wait for that either.
  11. Been watching this too Rich, the limited edition for Steam looks superb. I'm holding out for Maroon Small Yellow panel and BR Blue should funds allow.
  12. Yep it's a veranda Gas Turbine with tender that I fitted sound to.
  13. Some pics of my centennial in action, we took some videos but my laptop is out of action at the mo so I'll have to wait a few days before I upload them. Brendan took some himself too so he might get his videos uploaded first.

    SSM Sulzer 101

A class 20 has an English electric engine Eamon so would sound quite different. Go for a 24 or 25, they had sulzer engines in them.
  16. What make are the Conrail covered hoppers? Please don't 'Irishise' them!
  17. The Centennial will be making her first run!
  18. Well said. Can we bare in mind that this is a very sensitive subject where innocent people died before we make subsequent posts? Also let's keep it away from politics as per the rules. Thanks. Justice for the 96.
  19. Yep they call it super detail and she's a lovely loco, but the front pony truck on them isn't detailed for some reason. Compare it to Scotsman when you get her and you'll see. It was one of the original 'super detail' locos Hornby brought out so things have moved on even since then. Still a top quality gorgeous loco though, I do love them myself. I can't remember who does the replacement pony truck off the top of my head, but I will do that and the boxes when I get my laptop repaired in a few days time!
  20. Nice one! I like the Duchess too in black. I wouldn't worry too much about the brasswork along the bottom of the loco as that would've been quite dirty quite quickly in service. The big fall down of it is the front pony truck, which doesn't look anything like the real thing and certainly not detailed in the way the newer Hornby steam locos are. I will probably get round to sticking an aftermarket replacement on mine at some stage. Oh and you defo improved the weathering on the 66! Great work!
  21. I'd just put it on one of the driving axles Anto, like the rearmost drivers. Hornby locos pick up on the tender too, a bit of a failing on the Bachmann locos. And as for the Dutchess and the 66? PICTURES!!!
  22. Yep it's good stuff, plenty of tips for you there Kirley! Hope they're of use. You can get snot from model junction in the UK http://www.modeljunction.info
  23. It dries pretty clear, I picked up a jar when in the States last year for A4Mallard and it seems to do the trick for his steam locos. His diesels don't seem to need it.
  24. There's Bullfrog Snot too, no need to get the lathe out! http://www.bullfrogsnot.com/
