Nope. We don't compete with first class products and the resin Van Hool is certainly that. There were a few runs of the KD Bombardiers and the Standard D Atlanteans from the same stable, so imagine it will be the same for the Van Hools.

Hi everyone, Todays visual feast is IR with no dayglo panels! We'll have more reveals of the outstanding A1, Supertrain and IR locos in the coming days, not to mention some video content and more. In the meantime the As have been shifting at a mighty rate since we begun revealing the decorated samples. Don't miss out on that livery variant you fancy, because once they're gone, they're gone as Homestore and More says! https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/a-class-locomotive Cheers! Fran

I've talked to the producer of these and asked if he could post about them here in future too. I'm sure there will be further runs of the Van Hools so you wont miss out. I hope there will be anyway as I missed out myself...

Well, going through these samples we have asked the factory to make several corrections to make them acceptable. They are currently working on this but it will take another 2 weeks to finish, after that they head our way so will now land with us in late August. We're probably getting very pedantic at this stage, but we just want them to be the very best they can be. So, now for one variant which we reckon will be super popular; IR with dayglo panels... 036 And 054 One thing we missed on the initial design and tooling for the As was the cut out for the fuel gauge along the side, which many members of the class including 036 and 054 gained later in life. As you can see, we went back and corrected this to ensure we offer a clean sweep of A variants. These are endangered species, with 054 already sold out. So, if you want to get 036 for some dayglo loveliness, don't hang about! https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/a-class-locomotive/availability_pre-order? Cheers! Fran

Well, one is the Tara for sure, the other is all new model that is currently being assessed and checked ahead of launch in the coming weeks, and there will be some re-runs too, not to mention other all new models in the works at various stages of development....

Hi everyone, A personal favourite of mine today, and a condition I have early memories of the As in, filthy dirty and noisy. That is of course Super Train with IR branding. (please note the front handrail got mangled on these two, but it is getting sorted on the production models) 007 And 056 This livery has never been done before RTR but was quite prevalent on As and baby GMs from 87 into the early/mid 90s. They will look awesome weathered up to reflect the twilight years of the Metrovicks. Order yours here: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/a-class-locomotive Cheers! Fran

Was once in W&H in 1994 visiting the London branch of the family. Bought two Bachmann coaches there out of the pocket money! No model shops in London now, save for Janes Trains in Tooting I believe.

Happy Monday, everyone! Today it's time to show off the remaining black and tan locos, A15 and A39r with their full band livery. A15 And A39r.... As you probably already know, A39r (and A23r for that matter) are already sold out, but we do have a limited supply of A15 remaining. So, if you are looking for one, you know what to do... https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/a-class-locomotive/products/a15-a-class-locomotive Cheers! Fran

Super Train time! One of the iconic A Class liveries and heralding a new and optimistic age for Irish railways, the Supertrain livery is a must for anyone modelling the 1970s-late 1980s. Check out 018 in this classic paint job. Naturally this has been a very popular livery and a great era for both passenger and freight. Personally I cant wait to see these weathered up! Grab yours here https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/a-class-locomotive

To quell the fraught debate about the correct shade of black, we're revealing two black beauties to you this morning, A12 and A55. A55... And A12 (A bit of a personal favourite I must say...) Regarding the handrails, they are indeed plastic and we have instructed the factory to improve the packaging protection in this area which they are doing to prevent the bending in these pics. This will also include the tablet catchers being in the correct position too as the ones on A12 got a bit bent as can bee seen. They are also improving the yellow end on A12 to take care of any fuzziness. Grab them both here, folks! Perfect haulers of our grey bubbles, CIE cravens and more... https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/a-class-locomotive/availability_pre-order?
