If you care to read the announcement again @Michael Nolan you will see that there are other announcements due in the coming weeks. What an odd statement to make.

IRM Sings The Blues - Original Taras! (and Newer Livery too) We haven't had an IRM announcement for a little while as we work to get the A Classes over the line. Now our Metrovicks are getting close to completion, we can focus on other projects. So, we have a couple of excellent new announcements coming up over the next while. The first of which is a perfect companion to our A Class and something that's been in high demand since we sold out of them a couple of years ago; the Tara Mines wagons are back, and this time in their most iconic livery of blue with Tara branding! The Tara Mines wagon were built by CIÉ in 1977 for Tara Mines Ltd to convey zinc and lead ore from their mine near Navan, Co. Meath to Dublin Port for export. They are still in operation today and currently represent the heaviest freight trains operated on a daily basis in Ireland. When they first appeared on the network they sported an attractive all over blue livery with Tara branding, forming a distinctive and bright block train as CIE pumped positivity into the Irish rail freight network. Three laden trains still operate in a block formation between the mine and Dublin Port each day, with the wagons going about their business in unassuming and reliable fashion for almost 35 years. When we launched our first run of these distinctive wagons back in late 2016 we did so in the current red oxide livery only. We were asked by many modellers if a blue liveried model would be forthcoming. It seemed pointless to provide them at that time due to a lack of quality A Class locomotives to haul them, but we did tool the original style hoods as we were already planning then to do the A's some justice in model form. The blue Taras were almost religiously hauled by A Class locomotives between their introduction in 1977 and repainting in the early 1990s, with Supertrain, Supertrain with IR logos and IR white lined livery providing motive power during this time. The wagons themselves began to suffer due to the corrosive nature of the zinc order they hauled, with the blue fading into grey before the repainting into red oxide livery. IR branded A Classes would continue to haul the Tara's in red oxide until their withdrawal and replacement with 071 locomotives in 1995. As per the first run of these wagons, a wealth of separately applied detail to ensure the bulky nature of these interesting wagons is captured correctly. Rotating axle hubs, kinematic couplings with NEM pockets set at the correct height and full 21mm provision has been accounted for, with sprung buffers and full brake detail present. As well as blue livered Tara's, we're also offering packs of the later red oxide livery with all new numbers and later style hood to help modellers bolster their previous rake, or build a new one for their IR A Classes or 071 locomotives in IR, IE orange and black, black and silver and current grey livery. There will be five different twin packs of the blue liveried wagons, each with a unique running numbers allowing you to build up an authentic rake of 10 wagons behind your IRM A Class. We are also offering three packs of these wagons in red oxide livery. All packs are being made in extremely limited numbers. Despite rising costs in China, we are able to maintain our RRP of €79.95 per twin pack. We also know our rake deals are always popular, so we will be continuing them. You can buy all 8 packs (five blue and three red oxide) for €624.60 (saving 15%!) or two or more of any packs for 10% off. Just add the wagons to your cart and it will be automatically deducted at the checkout for you! Tweaks to some of the printing (including the "Tara" branding) is already underway and once this is complete manufacturing will get underway, with a Q4 2021 delivery date envisaged. You can pre-order yours by clicking here.

Warbonnet replied to Warbonnet's topic in Bus models
Thanks Jason. The paint isnt the worst in the world, but far from the best and we couldnt sell them as anything other than that, but as you say they're fine for plonking on the layout! Many thanks for the order! -
Need to show them how it's done, George! Have you had a go at a 121 with the weathering stick yet?

Hi everyone, There has been some silence on this project and I must admit that's down to IRM, and not Robert, so apologies to both Robert and all of you who are interested in this footbridge for that. We were so impressed with Robert's design and attention to detail that we approached him with a view to mass produce his footbridge design rather than do a small run 3D print, which he has very graciously agreed to. So, this will be a new scenic accessory from IRM! What's more, we are working on a modular concept for the bridge, allowing for various spans and orientations, giving you greater flexibility to fit in on your layout! The plan is that it will fully painted and with the bare minimum for assembly. We are currently working with our factory to get this production ready, and we will have a full update and launch including specs, prices, ordering information and more later this year, so please bare with us on that. We will have more details in due course, but with the design being so good and now with a factory fit and finish, it promises to be a must have for any Irish layout! Cheers! Fran

Today is another significant milestone here at Accurascale. We get to reveal to you the very first tooling prototype sample of our forthcoming Class 37! We received a substantial parcel containing a myriad of Class 37 bodies and various tooling parts which allowed us to cobble together this first model of D6700. In the weeks ahead we will have fully operating samples of our other variants, including highly-anticipated WIPAC-equipped Class 37/6, Scottish car headlight Class 37/0s, our modern Class 37/4s and of course Accurascale Exclusive 97301 with its *unique roof, distinctive flush noses and underbody-mounted radar equipment. Unfortunately we were missing some parts such as enough etches for the cab footsteps, cab door hand rails, footsteps and some other etches. However, we persevered and assembled this sample to give you a flavour of what's to come! Check out that frost grill! Of course, the devil is in the detail and our Type 3 is no different. We teased out some of these on our Facebook page, Twitter feed and on RMWeb late last week, but it's only when you see all those parts together on the model that you then appreciate the sheer complexity and research as well as tooling and development that has gone into our model of these icons. We announced the Class 37 at the Warley show last year and it went down a storm with modellers, showing a big appetite for a new generation of Syphons! It seemed apt for us to assemble D6700 as our first prototype model as it recently celebrated its 60th birthday and is the subject of a special edition model with Locomotion Models, due for release next year. As we stated when we first announced our Tractors, we are looking to fill those gaps previously missed by other RTR models. Our model above represents the first five locomotives of the class constructed, delivered from English Electric’s famous Vulcan Foundry at Newton-le-Willows between December 1960 and January 1961. Distinctive compared to the other 114 split head code machines due to their characteristic riveted multi-part cantrail grilles, our model perfectly represents this and a range of other as built features. Once again, these have not been previously done in this condition in OO gauge, so they offer a nice detail alternative to your fleet for your 1960s and 70s BR era layouts. These include four-character headcode display, frost grille, double-riveted roof, buffer beam cowling with large round Oleo buffers, bodyside water filler access door and steps, accurate early buffer beam configuration with vacuum/steam/control piping only. Of course, like with any newly tooled model, there are tweaks. We will be refining some of the fit and finish of the loco, particularly in the roof area, tooling marks to be smoothed out along with unevenness with some of the grilles. There are also rivets to be added which takes place when the decorated samples are delivered, which we will receive in the spring of 2021. Overall though we are very happy with how our Class 37s are coming together, and we will be sharing more previews of the various sub classes which form part of our first release programme in the coming weeks! We can however show off some more detail bits in the meantime not exclusive to D6700, like the three types of cab interior above, or the four (!) different bogie side frames below: From top to bottom; Cast ex-Deltic Cast Class 37 Cast ex-Class 50 Fabricated If you wish to pre-order one of our Class 37s, you can do so by clicking here or visiting your local 'Accurascale Approved' stockists! Delivery is Q3 2021. Look out for more Class 37 updates and previews in the coming weeks by checking back here to our blog, subscribing to our email newsletter, following us on Twitter, Facebook or RMWeb and of course in the news pages of your favourite railway modelling magazines. Green Dublin Buses for over 50% off?! Britbus Local Links Now In Stock!
Warbonnet replied to Warbonnet's topic in Bus models
Hi everyone, Well in 24 hours we have sold 50% of this stock already! Many thanks for everyone who ordered. It looks like you guys like a bargain when one comes along. Orders still coming in, so don't miss out! Order yours and some of our other diecast vehicle stock here: https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/vehicles Cheers! Fran -
Just that we shouldnt be making vehicles JB, but I wont go any further into it than that. Mistakes were made as they say, and hopefully they learnt from it too. What vans did P&T have in the 60s? Befords, Commers, Thames? Them new fangled Transits? I like the overall green livery, but the orange and white that came in the 70s with the revised logo was fantastic too!
