  1. Yeah, it'll be fully automated so the trains will be able to trundle back and forth. It will be mainly the Bachmann DMU with the GMs making a few appearances
  2. Yep that's the one, was built about 6 years ago just because I fancied a bit of a shunting yard and station, its designed so a fiddle yard could be put onto either the single branch or the double track mainline. When the shop was bought 4 years ago it was put in there to give people ideas for layout building and the response to it was one of the reasons for starting buildmyrailway. Took it out a while ago as we needed for space for stock. People still ask reguarly about it so we currently have plans completed for a 12 x 1 end to end station to countryside working layout for the shop. Hopefully if time allows it will be finished and running by the autumn
  3. If feeling inspired to crack on with my own this evening after seeing yours spring to life!
  4. Great if the min is 2nd radius was worried looking at it the inner one was 1st. Ill get a few additional pics of the other layout with the yard etc for you
  5. Loving the progress, everything coming together so well, top work!
  6. Just saw the news there yep he took his car door too
  7. Yep we're selling them, as Seamus says due in next week. As I've said in previous post thumbs up for Seamus and Mark for doin the prep work on a stunning model
  8. Wonder did he take his car door with him
  9. ahh back on track now was getting confused there! lol. That will work well, the layout in the pic is 8 x 4 too, the curves to the back sidings will need to be tight to get it to fit but its doable. Other thing you might need to do with the space to have smooth curves is drop the line to the fiddle yard to single track then fan out to 3/4 sidings when it gets round the back
  10. ah just spotted the new plan, is the L shape not a runner?
  11. Vincent, love the plan but we need to set up a meeting with the landowner and explain how important the space is! Can you squeeze a bit more space out so you can have a long fiddle yard??
  12. Used a jigsaw mate, drilled a hole in the centre then cut out to the lines
  13. Had a trawl through the iphone, not the greatest pics but gives you an idea Using plasticard - one I previously did for a client Using woodland smooth it - currently mid way through this one, will be back on site in July so will take better shots for you then mark out the area and track with paving tape not a great angle but gives you the idea, taken before i painted up the concrete area. As I say ill take more shots of this particular one when im next working on it in July.
  14. yep works spot on too
  15. Some pics for those not on Garaiste P Class
  16. Wiggy, i use woodland smooth it for all yards and tramways, level crossings etc works great and is very easy and clean to cut when not totally dry. Plasticard also works well but won't be as realistic looking as smooth it.
  17. Two kits are being released in Oct at Dublin. CIE "P" class half cab single deck and also a CIE/Bus Eireann "M" class single deck which was used on Expressway services.
  18. Frank, Jim will have a website up towards the end of the summer with details of forthcoming kits and listings and photos of previous kits. I'll PM you his contact details shortly. As ttc says, the next planned release is October at the MRSI Exhibition in Dublin
  19. A 450 was used on a Sunday a few years back at Lisburn to represent a London 150 and Lisburn was supposed to be a London Station saw pictures at the time the 450s NIR logos etc were covered up with GB decals but they were very basic.
  20. Scenic How to: We are always asked how to do scenics so we thought we'd put together a 'How to' step by step on doing a scenic board. This is a small sample board that we'll have on display in store so you can view it in detail. Weve also been asked how the new Woodland pens look so we've used them on the board. If your apply these technics across your layout you can recreate the same as is shown here. If don't have room for full layout then a small board this size is great for displaying your models or using to photograph. If you've any questions on anything shown here feel free to post. Step 1: Starting off with our blank board we mark out roughly were we want the track to go
