  2. After receiving an invite to attend the event at London Waterloo for the return of 4VEP 3417 "Gordon Pettitt" to the terminus for the first time in 18 years, I made a flying visit to London on the Friday night to attend the event on Saturday before returning back to Ireland on Saturday night. I have to say it was a fantastic day out and full of emotion for me as well. Hopefully it won't be too long before we see "Gordon" at heritage railways and eventually mainline running before too long.
