Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Has anyone tried these simply plug and play http://www.train-tech.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1:2-aspect-home&catid=1:signals&Itemid=5 Quote
BosKonay Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Interesting. Looks like you toggle them with dcc like a point motor... Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 I'm not to sure but hey no wiring that can't be to bad Quote
BosKonay Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 They look like they work like the cobalts. Switch them to 'learn' then pick an accessory address. Then switch them to 'run'. Once you call up the address and toggle, they change... Could be very simple.. Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 Very very tempted mate Quote
Mayner Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 I wonder what their power consumption is like? I had some point motors powered off the track supply but it would probably be better to have a separate power supply or booster powering the signals. Its fairly simple to convert points to computer control using JMRI or some of the other programmes, but there is a lot of additional hardware and wiring converting signals to automatic operation. Derry Central Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Just picked up one this week to see how it would operate. Very easy to set up and very easy to use. Simply attach to the rails, activate with a wire, supply an accessory address and start to use. Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 If you were using it in conjunction with a point I would say you could give it the same DCC address and have them change at the same time Quote
