Services ended this afternoon with the last trip working on the western half of the line, the Gisborne end was severed by a series of winter wash-outs and slips.

The video of the weekly-trice weekly freight includes switching the industry sidings at the Gisborne end of the line and some spectacular viaducts

John that is an amazing video. I have really enjoyed it. The scenery and the viaducts are breath taking. I love the scene of the train crossing at Gisborne Airport when the helicopter comes into view. The shots of Gisborne rail yard are fantastic from the chap changing the point to the turntable scene.

New Zealand is a beautiful country and some of it looks untouched by human hands. It's really sad that the services have ended on the line. Some of the shots of the locos head on look a little like our Irish models on 16.5mm track. Once again John a really special video, thanks for posting.
