A cache of Northern station signs, wagon plates etc. went for serious money at auction today - along with Michael Collins hair (£4,400) and his walking stick £16,000.

Most of the signs looked like they had been stored since being taken down in the 1960s with the highest price being paid £480 for a Strabane sign.

I had noticed the railwayana for sale too, every piece I thought commended a very good (albeit high) price. 
Suppose it shows that there is a good collectors market out there and auction is the place to be if you really really want something.
