MikeO Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Yesterday I got an email from support@irishrailwaymodels.com saying I had logged in on a new device. The information listed the ne device as Windows, Chrome and an address in England. I did login yesterday but used the same device as I always do. However the address is completely wrong as I do not live in England. Just wondering if this is a genuine email. MikeO Quote

mmie353 Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 May also want to open a website like https://www.whatismyip.com/ and from there it should provide your public IP address and more importantly, the location of where it has been detected. Quote
MikeO Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 Thanks BosKonay and mmie353 Did not think of providing a screen shot This is the top of the email and a screen shot of the body of the email. New Device Login Irish Railway Modeller <support@irishrailwaymodels.com> To: MikeO oconnorm50@btinternet.com; 04/11/22 16:54 Its the address that makes me suspicious. I think I will leave the website link as a last resort. Hopefully Admin can confirm or not the authenticity of the email. I would think that there should be a record of its issue on the IRM system if it is genuine MikeO Quote
BosKonay Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Email definitely came from here and I can see the Ip change logged. Did you change provider or maybe use the link above to check your ip? Quote
MikeO Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 No the provider is still the same. The only change was changing from Mcafee security to Nortons due to my provider changing to Nortons. I have not used the link mmie353 provided. Thanks BosKonay. As you have confirmed the email is genuine that is all I need to know. MikeO Quote
