New loco packaging

When Irish Rail took delivery of a new locomotive, what did they do with the cardboard box and polystyrene or foam insert? They must not have kept the cardboard boxes otherwise all of those class 201 locos sitting at Inchicore could have been put back in the boxes and stored when not in use. That is what I do.

A Dutch bicycle company used to get a good bit of transit damage to their bicycles that were shipped in flat cardboard boxes.

So, they just added a TV to the image on the box and got a lot less damage as a result...

Getting a new tv?" I was asked when my new bike arrived. Some bike brands print a TV on the box so that shippers handle them more carefully. : r/bicycling
