Camas Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago As I pottered in the garden last weekend, I realised in me, a sense of excitement and anticipation not experienced in many a decade! That memory of waiting, of counting down the days for Christmas and the arrival of the man in red. And I know its not the same. I've paid the bill and know the package will arrive. But the anticipation is real. The long wait is real. The excitement of seeing the box at the front door is real, albeit not under a Chrisrmas tree, and the unpacking is real. And the amazement of seeing products of the quality and standard of the Park Royal in the flesh is real. So thank you, Accurascale for that Christmas feeling and for your inexhaustible sack of goodies. And it minded me of a Christmas past when I received my first train set. Totally unexpected and never dared to ask for. Probably driven by my avid perusal of two Marklin and Rivasorri catalogues. To this day I've no idea how those catalogues came to be in my possession, and avid hoarder that I am, I still have them! That first train set, of no monetary value today, but still holding a special place in my stash and im sure, costly for my parents back in the day. Powered by a little controller sitting on 2 lantern batteries. All that's missing today is the cardboard tunnel, disintegrated from much use. And I see elsewhere on this forum, the 'IRM 1960s Wish List', a christmas list of sorts. We are all believers. So keep up the great work, Accurascale, and thank you. Show quoted text 1 1
Mol_PMB Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago What a great post and I agree! Superb Hunslets and Park Royals landing now after much expectation, some more interesting models on the way, and hopes for what might be announced in October… 2
