Have just received an email, seemingly from Roger of Alphagraphix.

The subject is “Hello….”

The body is:

”Let me know if you get this
I'm unable to talk on phone due to throat infection.

Roger Crombleholme
Alphagraphix”

I’ve just called and spoken with Roger to let him know. He has done what he can since the last attack, and confirms that this is not genuine.

Beware!

Bit of a PSA here, I believe Roger's email has been hacked, if you get an email from him asking for anything regarding gift cards or whatnot beware!

Got that this am. Need to get in touch with him anyway so may give a call on Monday - will see if he’s aware.

I think we may have to resort to writing a letter and sending it by post....

Perhaps one could send a pigeon!

Seems like Roger has got his email back at any rate

Yep, got exact same email, glad you could get in contact with Roger!

In better news I got an email from him earlier to let me know his asssessment has gone well and he expects laser eye surgery next month.

I know that some email providers, for example Google, allow you “send email as” if you have the password to another email account.

For example, one can send mail from their Gmail account, and it appears to have come from their Outlook account.

However, the scammer would need to have set a different “reply to” address for that to work, as the replies will go to Roger.

So, either they’re very bad at scamming, or they still have access to Roger’s inbox.
