OK lads Identification help required.

I just bought 2 Old Atropos Schull & Skibbereen Open Wagon kits, 3 Old Atropos Schull & Skibbereen Open Cattle Wagon, An old SixteenMills West Clare Horsebox kit 

and this

So any ideas or is it just someone's creation?

I;ll get the Superglue out while you have a think.

 No - this leads to a link which needs a password. It has a domain name dot io …. which seems odd.

That’s an original 1887 Cavan & Leitrim coach, converted to a brake compo by CIE.

Thanks, I wondered if it was a true model as it was with the specific kits. Seller has posted more kits on his site and I am now watching with more interest. The garden railway may need to be expanded.

Well, it is and it isn't - if you look at the right hand end of it in that pic, the roof just ends, without enclosing the balcony (as at the other end). That would have to be rectified, but I see that the bits for the balcony railings appear to be included. I must look at what else there is there out of interest. On a more minor detail, and easily fixable, what appears to be a white line above the windows should be pale green, as on other CIE-liveried coaches. For garden railway scale, it's a nice model indeed - I'd be tempted if I had a garden railway.

I think the other end just needs completing. A bit strange for someone to leave it like that, considering it is already painted, but looks a nice model. Indeed, crying out to be finished off with three teddy boys perched on the balcony as per that wonderful picture in Michael Whitehouse's book.

Who's the seller?

 

It was complete until DHL (DROP IT,hide it,lose it) had their hands on it.  All the missing parts were in the box. Hence why I originally said I'll get the superglue.

The photo does not do it justice either, even the cabling on the roof for the (working) lights and interior is done.

I;m getting these Through GRS (Garden Railway Specialists), Princes Risborough. Second Hand. But Atropos were about in the 90's (even though these kits are still sealed), and did quite a bit of Irish NG.

As well as a lot of prototypical Welsh NG, not the usual freelance stuff that is now sold.

I had a look for them online. I had never heard of them, still less their (very nice) Irish stuff. And yet, I was doing G scale in the garden then (but Spanish prototype).

Yes it is "very nice" Actual (Ready drop punch riveted!) brass strip and brass rivets to go through the timber, Pre folded brass catches and runners for sliding doors. Pre bent Brass wire for the Grab handles. Real micro chain.

Yes actual parts not cast whitemetal. A real craftsman job, to put together.

Just added a Cork and Muskerry Van kit (With the tarp centre roof) A built Schull an Skibereen medium Van, Another West Clare Horsebox (This one is built and yes I know they only had 1) and another Schull & Skibbereen Open Cattle Wagon kit.

Shop has no more at present but I have put myself on the wish list for further arrivals and particularly anything from the guy that brought this lot in.

If you fancy a cheap way to do Irish narrow gauge, check out Alphagraphix. Roger's card kits are only £3-4 and make either decent static 7mm scale models or the basis for working ones. Schull, Donegal, Cavan items included, plus much standard gauge too with a very good range of Sligo Leitrim.

I use the 4mm versions as templates for Plasticard and Brass scratch builds on my inside OOn3 layouts. Don't think 7mm card would do very well outside on a 45mm gauge track or trying to light the fire for live steam.

For reference the coach is about 2 foot long.
