Kirley Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 What size (width) should the white line on the edge of a platform be, I've painted one and feel it's too wide. They can't agree either! Any answers please? Quote
0 Broithe Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Find a block-paved drive and scale it off this.. Quote
0 Glenderg Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Kieran, Modern ones are 200mm wide - 2.6mm, and historic ones varied from 400mm - 5.2mm if granite kerbing for steam era, then 300mm - 4mm for concrete paving slab type from the 60's onward til elf n safety took over. Richie. Quote
0 Hunslet 102 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Kieran-from the photo is looks fine to me ,judging by the width of your platform to the wall it does not look out of scale.Interesting stats from Richie which should help you and which I was not aware off. Quote
0 Broithe Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Those paving blocks will be 100 x 200 mm - so the line at Ballybrophy is a tiny bit less than 200mm, but near enough.. Quote
0 Glenderg Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Oh you're right there Broithe, the only thing consistent about the width is that there is none. This is 150mm version taken on a typically glorious day in loveless junction 2004'ish. A strip about 2.5mm looks "right" for modern era stuff. Quote
