Cravens Coaches

Does anyone know why MM have fitted their Cravens coaches with undersize 10mm dis wheels instead of the correct 12mm dia? I can see no reason why the 12mm dia would not work. Admittedly it would make the coach sit 1mm higher, but then there were always variations with the prototype.

Possibly the manufacturers used HO wheel sets to keep the tooling costs down. Would make sense if the manufacturer also produces passenger cars for the US market and explain the problems reported with the coupler dropper bars being too low.
