End of The Line for Ghost Trains as 31 Stations under 'Full Review'

According to the Sunday Indo 31 stations out of a total of 147 face closure due to lack of passengers using them. The info came from The National Transport Agency, National Rail Census.

Attymon with 2 passengers a day, Cloughjordan with 5 boarding + 4 arriving, Roscrea with 15 boarding + 1 arriving, Nenagh with 18 boarding + 2 arriving it looks like a clear out of parts of Rural Ireland. Even in the Capitol the relatively new Adamstown only has 85 boarding and 107 arriving and Clondalkin has 37 boarding + 46 arriving. Even The Westeren Rail Corridor only caters for 1000 passengers a day and as for Limerick to Ballybrophy only 73 passengers a day. So it looks like there'll be a repeat of the rail closures of the 1950's and 1960's with more tracks lifted.

I wonder would Ballybrophy survive the loss of the branch? It's fairly busy these days, compared to ten years ago - often have to park on the road, anyway....
