Sulzer201 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Hi all, A few pics of the RPSI trip to Wicklow and Greystones today, Monday 6th April. Quote
Chevron Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Great pics. Never been on a steamie before. looks interesting to say the least as a driver or shoveller lol Love the first one so atmospheric. Last image is great. nice clear shot of the cab. Turns out my 2 latest paint jobs are styled the same as image 049 (Colour wise only) Edited April 6, 2015 by Chevron Quote
Noel Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Super photos. The RPSI loco and cravens look great, but boy are they let down by the junk heap of GSV which looks like it came from a breakers yard. Quote
jhb171achill Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 The rust bucket will very soon be retired, Noel. It's successor awaits shortly in the wings.....! I agree; not before time. Quote
Noel Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 The rust bucket will very soon be retired, Noel. It's successor awaits shortly in the wings.....! I agree; not before time. Thanks. I just found this clip of 3173 the 'successor' you mentioned. Seems half way through a repaint or at least primed. Wonder what the final livery will be. LMS maroon? It will greatly improve the look of a rake arriving in a station, especially if it is 1st coach. [video=youtube;Tk382-5T-08] Quote
jhb171achill Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 It's going to be in a broad approximation to GSR maroon, which will match the older "heritage" stock like 1142 and 351. With blue stock, nothing technically matches as the blue is an RPSI-derived livery. Thus, GSR maroon is as good as anything! Quote
