Question

Hi Lads,

I've my old Lima 201 which I tried to update to DCC running but the canmotor just isn't up to it. Its currently sitting on a siding looking pretty. I can't afford a MM201 or the 071 just right now and I've heard that the Bachmann Class 66 is a good donor chassis for the 201.

Is it and how much work involved?

Thanks,

Bill

Mechanically the Bachmann 66 is very good (I've 5 of them) but visually the underframe tanks and bogie side frames are way off.

If you sold the Lima 201 and put about 60-70 towards if you get a good secondhand MM201 I reckon. The Bachmann 66 is probably going to cost you the guts of 100 anyway. Just a thought.
