Cuisle, 1947. There had been in recent months what remains even today the heaviest snow ever recorded in Ireland.

Many towns were entirely cut off for weeks, and running out of essential supplies.

Perhaps this is, ironically, somewhat typical now!

Really my grandad had a love for history and had a book or two on the midland thus my love for the midland. He also did drawing of locos at streamtown junction but they were very basic.
