1950s tank wagons

Below is a picture of a Slaters 7mm scale tank wagon, for 'standard' gauge. Ignore the lettering, which is not Irish, but was wondering if this type of tank wagon made it over the water?

 Unfortunately, it will not be possible to adapt it to 36.75mm gauge, but this wagon is a very nice kit that I should be able to adapt if starting again. Ideas and thoughts welcome!
