David Holman Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 The new, November Railway Modeller has a fascinating article on the above. For £9.99, you buy a downloadable set of printouts which enable a delightful canalside/warehouse scene which fits in a foolscap boxfile. Backing card, cork sheet and a small amount of track, including a Y point, also need to be bought, but the article shows that a really convincing scene can be created as an ideal backdrop for any of the small industrial locos now available. Could also be done with 009 or 00n3 and likewise given an Irish flavour too. Never say you don't have room for a model railway! 4 Quote
KMCE Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 They do some very nice buildings - I have purchased quite a few of their models over time & while they take some time to make up, they are very well put together & look quite convincing. They have two micro layouts; an industrial layout and the dockscene you mentioned. https://scalescenes.com/product/ly01-industrial-boxfile-layout/ https://scalescenes.com/product/ly02-canal-wharf-boxfile-layout/ Good value, and once you purchase the files, you can print them off as may times as you like, so those building could be use in different scenes. I would imagine with a bit of scaling on the printer, these could be scaled up to 7mm? 2 Quote
David Holman Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Already been scribbling! However, not Irish this time, but as a means of using my Wantage tank. Scratch built from the MRJ articles several years ago, it would be nice to give it something to run on. 1 Quote
KMCE Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 I wondered if the Wharf micro layout possible in 21mm. It is! Quote
Sean Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 This thread has opened a Pandora's box in my mind David. Quote
