Si2020 Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 Not had much bench time recently with other things going on but made a start on the chassis the other evening. Its is compensated and has a floating centre axle, which can be a pain when your trying to put it on the rails at a show. 3 Quote
leslie10646 Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Great stuff, young man and with a decided IRISH Angle. Sir John Aspinall, sometime CME and then General Manager of the Lancs and Yorks did his time at INCHICORE and lefy his mark on the Irish locomotive scene. 1 Quote
Si2020 Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) Hi all, So a few days away from the bench since the last post but a couple of hours on sunday night has got me to this point. Nearly time for a dip in the ultrasonic bath and then some primer before checking. Edited March 20, 2023 by Si2020 3 Quote
Si2020 Posted March 24, 2023 Author Posted March 24, 2023 Whilst the coach is drying aftera coat of primer. Next up is a second set of Twin bolster wagons. This set will have a long load between them to create some intrest and fun whilst runnng them. 5 Quote

Si2020 Posted June 8, 2023 Author Posted June 8, 2023 Now The big train set has had its only show apperance for this year, its time to do a bit more on the stock for Wainthrop to bolster the rakes that I can run. The second of the twin bolster is now done and they are both almost ready fo the spray booth Just need to decide whether to have a short load on them or have a long load after seeing a nice photo in one of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Miscellany books. The longer load would, I think, provide some diffent to run at shows and making operating the layout more challenging. 2 Quote
Si2020 Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 (edited) Something different and not something you normal a view you get to see when the layout is at a show, unless track cleaning is going on and the signal box has been lifted off. Edited August 2, 2023 by Si2020 2 Quote
Si2020 Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 So its been a while..... As im taking the train set to Macclesfield Model Railway exhibtion I've been sorting the stock and starting to get the varous bits together that are needed. The stock trays had been bothering me for a while as whilst tryingt o kepe everything secure it was leading to a little bit of damage now and again. So a rethink was needed so now the foam used for seperating the stock is at the bottom with slots cut for the couplings, I use sprat and Winkle, to keep everything in place. 4 Quote
Si2020 Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 Had good show at Macclesfield over the weekend. Gave a new toy a run out and it did rather well.
