Great game today! Would have loved Dublin to win, but fair play to Cork!
-
Thanks for the advice! I probably will do that then. Just out of interest, why is the rail and ship gantry not efficient? I would have though it would have been more so?
-
Thanks lads! Dave, is it a container ship? The surface on the inside could be a bit slanted, don't want the containers to fall off! Michael, your crane's great, love the IE decals! Glenderg is building me my own container crane over a foot wide, and he's made me my containers! Excellent work! One thing is was thinking about there was, how could I move containers from the quayside to the ship? Don't think my crane would have the potential to do that! Maybe a crane on the ship, I know some ships have those.

I've edited the plan a bit as I think the loco depot makes it look a bit too cramped. So I might try a quayside scene with maybe a small container ship (anyone know where I can get one?). When a passenger train arrives at the main platform, the loco will uncouple from the stock. A pilot loco will come from the stabling point or the track beside the train and haul the stock back into the tunnel to release the loco. When the loco is out of the way, it shunts the stock back into place for the loco to back onto again. Or, alternatively, if there is another 071 or 201 at hand, then the loco can uncouple from it's stock, and the new loco can just back onto the stock and release the previous loco when it departs.

Loco failure I think. Saw a 111 with 206 or 207 going towards Dublin.
-
And I also have to say that save for a couple of eejits shouting "get a goal!" when Cian O'Sullivan was just past the half-way line, most of the fans were very knowledgeable and knew all of the players!

I'm not really sure playing in front of such huge crowds gives the Dubs that much of an advantage, they often bottle it because of the pressure. Whilst I do admit that there is a fickle element to a lot of their fans, I don't really think there is another county that could bring that noise of atmosphere to a match. I was on the Hill when McManaman scored the goal and it really did shake. I've never seen so many grown men cry in my life! C'mon Mayo for Sam (family from there), and Limerick or Dubs for Liam!
-
Stunning stunning stunning!!!!!!! Can't wait to see this develop!
-
Great day in Croke Park yesterday on the Hill, superb atmos especially for the dubs. Tyrone were a disgrace, hope Mayo get through and hammer them in the semis! Who does everyone here support?
-
Love the multiservice livery. Always thought it was striking.
-
Last night in nice was pretty uneventful one thing was I saw the new livery for the old corail coaches with reclining seats on sleeper trains. Quite nice I think!
-
Also, I wonder was the sybic an exception? Last night tomorrow, would love to see another!

Generally, the drivers and shunting staff are dead on, but some of the police and security services are a bit pompous... They didn't mention taking photos, but they said that unless I had a ticket, I shouldn't be on the platform.
-
Love it! I always loved those locos, now all you need is another one in multiservice or blue to double head it with I got a roco 68000 for Christmas one time, great model. Quite similar appearance wise to the 67400s.
-
To be honest, I don't think you get a very good view from the platform. If you don't want to leave drogheda, then the car park is better, but I think you'd be better going to Layton or somewhere!
-
Brilliant! My cousins live in Marie and I've always had to get off at athenry, but oranmore will be much handier.
-
Thanks sulzer! Some more pics from last night, nothing out of the ordinary, but one of the only two nights where I can see the train to Irun. Also a pilgrim train from lourdes rushed through and caught me unaware, so not very good pictures of that Enjoy!
-
I initially thought that, but all 3 times the train has been double headed, the 2nd loco's pantograph went up, just before the train departed!
-
The wait is over!!!! Finally saw a sybic tonight, on the night train to Paris. Also another double headed train to Luxembourg an Strasbourg, and the weekly train to Moscow. Just reflecting there on the demise of the overnight trains, ten years ago you would have seen night trains for Irun, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lille, st gervais, Calais, two separate trains for Strasbourg and Luxembourg, and one for Naples. Now there are just 4, two of which only go once a week
-
Station in chaos tonight, loads of delays on trains! Strasbourg/ Luxembourg train double headed by two 22200s, but on the down side, still no 26000s
-
I know, it's a pity. Haha, I'd love nice to see more freight, that's basically the only freight wagon I've ever seen in there, I should be more grateful! I did see a class 66 there last year though over in the carriage sidings. Annoyed that I haven't seen any 26000s though after seeing quite a few last year
-
In nice at the minute and quite depressed, 6 days and I haven't seen a single sybic! Just 22200s pulling the long distance trains. They seem to be phasing out locotracteurs as well, with the local shunting their own stock into place. The only excitement was a pilgrim train from Lourdes to Reggio Calabria centrale (!) and two container wagons in the sidings which disappeared after a couple of days.
