What space do you have? I would say getting a few track packs might not be a bad idea if you're just starting off, but boskonay's right, it does start to limit you after a while, especially if you want to run long trains.

Agreed, Rich! It looks the best weathered too Well, I think Anto's 220 weathered looks better than his 222 or 229 anyway. (it's lovely too though!) I can't, I'm already asking for dcc, a 201 sound decoder and probably loads of track too!
