Hi Guys, I want to make a mimic panel with LED's for point indication. I want to do a schematic using black tape 5mm wide. Anyone know where I can buy some?

Thanks Dave, love to see how you get on with the control panels.
No worries, I'm currently building a 10' x 5' layout for a customer, I'll post pics of it when its finished

The capacitor discharge unit in the link will be enough for what you want to do. You will only need one. I am making control panels pre-wired and numbered with connection terminals for connecting point motors to complete with a heavy duty DC power supply and LED indicators showing the position of the point.

Peco point motors are fine, you will need an auxiliary switch with it if you are powering the frog on the point, as you need to switch the polarity on the frog as the point switches. You don't have to power the frog, but you are relying on the side of the frog and rail for electrical continuity. If you need a second switch for an LED to show which way the point is set you will need a PL-15 twin micro switch. These are a pain as you have to assemble them, it took me 2 hours the other day to assemble 18 of them! The Seep point motor has all this built in and works out cheaper.

Sounds great! Can't wait to see it in the flesh!
I seen it on Sunday, it's stunning. The detail is fantastic, there is an Evening Herald on the dashboard!

Try the Metcalf card kits, they are available in N gauge from Marks Models http://www.metcalfemodels.com/n-gauge-kits

That is a good little set.

Not a very good set Paul, its only single action and I would say the nozzle wouldn't be great. You can get cheaper on eBay

They look great Tommy, thanks for the photos. it will be a while before I start mine as I have just moved house and no layout
-
Tommy, will you post a close up pic of the bubbles. i want to have a go at a rake.

Those cement bubbles look great Tommy. Did you use the old kinder egg or the new hinged ones?

That's a great plan, well thought out. Anyrail is great software, I have used it to design a number of layouts for customers. looking forward to seeing this develop.
