Our growing bus range has proven very successful, with our two commissions from Britbus of Dublin Bus double deckers in 1:76 scale selling out (or almost out with our latest release!) in record time. Retailing 1:76 vehicles from the Oxford diecast range has also been very successful to help Irish modellers add appropriate vehicles to their layouts and collections. We now continue that theme with a new brand and an all new model of an all new prototype, the Northcord ADL Enviro 400 in Dublin Bus hybrid livery. This model represents fleet number AH1 (191-D-44403) that has 10.3 metre, dual-door bodywork and was new to Dublin Bus in 2019. After a 2 year discussion, in 2019, Dublin Bus received 9 trial buses, 3 electric battery assisted Wrights, 3 Volvo Wright hybrids, and 3 Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMCs (AH1-3). All 9 buses are in an attractive yellow and green version of the Dublin Bus livery and feature flowers and leaf patterns on the livery. Dublin Bus Conyngham Road depot operates the ADL hybrids on busy west Dublin route 25/25A/25B and the model is featured on its route 25B, heading to Adamstown Station. Route 25B runs every 10 minutes and is complimented by ADL Enviro500s operated by sister depot Broadstone to boost passenger capacity. The route starts in the affluent Merrion Square of D2, and travels along the River Liffey ‘Quays’, Heuston Rail Station, Chapolizod bypass, and into Adamstown where its terminus is located at another railway station, ‘Adamstown Station’. AH1 to 3 are the shortest double deckers operating with Dublin Bus and are, body wise, identical to London’s but with the difference being that the wheelchair ramp is at the front door. The Alexander Dennis Enviro400H MMC iebus 0007 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-cornered, patented quick-release windows of the real bus and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the iebus 0007 model is its individual tree protector at the front. The front dome on the model is significant, with curved windscreens on both upper deck and lower deck. Northcord Model Company is also creating new design standards within the interior of both saloons. These features, inside the compartments, will represent the real, outstanding layout of the Enviro400H MMC, such as the extensive portrayal of handrails on upper deck and lower deck, etc. Further additional detail carried by the model include the special sunlight protection shade on the top of the front upper windscreen. Production of this model is now complete and on its way from the factory to us. We expect to have these models in stock in 4-5 weeks time. Hi everyone, With the A Classes about 6/7 weeks away from production completion we have received some requests recently regarding which locos are about to sell out. So, to help you plan strategically for your A Class purchases, we have drawn up this leader board to demonstrate what locos are about to sell out in the short term, and which ones are likely to be available for longer. As you can see below, A23r is the most endangered species at this moment. Please note that with all the variations in running numbers with the As that each running number will be small in quantity size overall, certainly smaller than the runs for the recent 121s or say the 141s, so likely difficult to get in the coming years. We will NOT be disclosing final production numbers on each running number except for the limited run of A1, which is 250 models. We have adopted a "The Chinese, a great bunch of lads" approach. Actually our contacts in China really are great people and we have a fantastic relationship with them. They really do get portrayed badly by companies, but they have bent over backwards for us in the past and gone above and beyond. I guess it's easy to blame those with no voice in these situations. As for which is selling most? We wont reveal true quantities of what's on the way, but if you sort them by best selling on the website it will tell you which is the most endangered species https://irishrailwaymodels.com/collections/a-class-locomotive The best selling are the closest to selling out, particularly that top line... Cityswift RHs continued into the early/mid 2000s but by that time they were gaining grey bumpers. RH70 went into the core cream and blue livery around 2001 I think, but RH126 lasted a bit longer than that. First Cityswift route was the 39 with P Class Plaxton/DAF single deckers in 1993. Blue and cream was 1998 I believe, but open to correction on that. Yellow debuted in 2004. While I'm here, RH126 on the 13A is very nearly sold out and RH70 on the 51B is not far behind!

A lot comes down to gearing too. 201s can do 100mph, but 59s (which have 3300HP and 4 more cylinders than an 071) are limited to either 60 or 75, dependant on variant. This is down to gearing aimed at haulage capacity over top speed. 66 and the 201 are much more closely related internally, but again the 66 is limited to 75mph (or 60 in the case of the Freightliner Class 66/6s)
