  1. Agreed. Fabulous skills.
  2. That's bizarre that an experienced factory would balls the packaging up like that, though it's not tven the first time we've seen it. The 121s also came in some well intentioned but poorly executed foam cushioning that caused them to be shunted out the side. The 201s also managed to get propelled through the ends of their blisters fairly often. The models are only as good as the packaging they are shipped in at the end of the day. Poor show. Obviously the emergency brake had to be pulled on these for the moment. Thanks for the update. They look lovely in the close up.
  3. I'm really bending rule one to justify these but I don't think I'm going to be disappointed
  4. I hope it's all above board and nobody has been infected with anything but be aware of the increasing use of AI to create personalised scams. AI can harvest information from anywhere you have been online and even trick you into thinking you know the sender. I'd almost be surprised if forums weren't a target for such AI generated scams. Hopefully nothing in it this time but be careful out there folks and it's almost never a good idea to open an attachment from someone you don't know.
  5. It was probably a virus attachment he was offering to send people when they PM'd him. That's why I asked him to just post a list up. I think the mods took the safe option and removed the thread.
  6. Condolences to Paddy's family and friends. Not many people leave behind such a legacy. RIP Paddy.
  7. Nope, no VPN active. Regional German ISP with no Austrian presence too. It would be nice to see the correct prices while browsing all the same. The weird thing is if I click on SHOP above, it goes to accurascale.com, then redirects to accurascale.at but a cookie has obviously been set as down below it says I am in Germany on the drop down but it looks like the prices are Irish.
  8. If I go to the https://www.accurascale.com website and then change my location to Germany, the website reloads to https://www.accurascale.at/. Is this now the expected behaviour? Is the VAT correct for me in Germany linke this? Edit: It's a bit all over the shop once you start clicking around. I clicked on the palvan blog entry on the austrian website, and then clicked on the "order yours now" at the bottom of that post and it dumped me out at https://www.accurascale.ie with Irish VAT (the nice round Irish Euro prices are a dead giveaway). These prices are obviously wrong for me in Germany with our 19% VAT rate.
  9. In that case I'd second the suggestion of starting off with water and washing up liquid. IPA can go badly wrong so if you go that route start of with strongly diluting it. You might use tooth picks to get the paint from crevices. I would separate the body and work on that even more gently. You can be more aggressive on the plain black plastic but still beware of solvents as they can sort of bleach plastic and make it look washed out, even if it's unpainted.
  10. I'd just weather over that if you're not happy with it.
  11. Interesting that the NIR mk2's sold better than the Vic Berry IR/IE ones. I bought both from the 90's but I'm trying to figure out why the NIR ones did better. The IR ones were limited to a very specific era. Did the NIR corporate livery ones alone outsell the IR ones or as a whole? Could it be that modellers in Britain who dip their toes into modelling Irish outline have a natural tendency to opt for NIR because it's UK and somehow still a bit familiar to GB outline? I mean the NIR liveries from the early 80's on clearly lean on BR practices with all that blue and white. It'll certainly be interesting to see what happens with the Hunslets.
  12. None on display today anyway.
  13. It was lovely catching up with some of you IRL today. Thanks to the participants, organisers and sponsors.
  14. RIP David. Conolences to your family.
  15. Lovely work George. I am pretty sure those Viessmann 4500 signals are German, not Austrian. But they also do the ÖBB ones: https://viessmann-modell.com/sortiment/spur-h0/signale/formsignale/
  16. Are there any pics of the RPSI tool van one? If one was to model it, which pack would be the best choice?
  17. When was the last palvan scrapped? I don't suppose any were knocking about in Inchicore into the 90's?
  18. Can't wait to see these in the flesh. Love those massive buffers!
  19. Quick question about the green ones....would these have been seen passing through Kildare or were they confined to the Dublin suburban network around 1960?
  20. I'm blown away by your herculean efforts Paul. That is an amazing resource. We owe you a debt of gratitude
  21. Same. The flats and the containers are my favourites.
  22. How many of those green H vans were there? Looks the part!
  23. Oh yeah, my two invoices apply the rake discount differently. In the invoice for the fitted ones it seems to have been "taken at source" from the unit price, so the rake discount appears nowhere on the invoice at all. That's why they appear 16% cheaper than this current run, where the rake discount is only applied after the subtotal line. I get it now.
  24. Are you sure? I paid €87.02 ex VAT for the fitted ones and €101.59 ex VAT for these ones. I make that a 16.7% increase ex VAT.
  25. I would politely ask you to at least get your facts right about the project before criticising it. It will interchange with DART at Tara and also not at Drumcondra but at a brand new station at Glasnevin Junction. This station will become akin to the Irish "Partick" for anyone familiar with the Glasgow system. DART+ West and DART+ South West will enable Irish Rail to (theoretically at least) let Intercity services stop at say Parkwest and Cherryorchard to allow airport bound customers from the provinces to wait for a (frequent) DART to Glasnevin Junction and from there take the metro to the airport. Sligo line inctercity customers can expect to interchange directly with metrolink at Glasnevin. The metro if built will IMHO be extended to Donabate to interchange with DART and Intercity services there some day. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that but metrolink will very definitely serve passengers from all over the country. Notwithstanding that, Dublin is the capital and principal generator of revenue in the country. It needs infrastructure to compete with other similarly sized European capitals to continue to attract investment and jobs. Starving it of that investment is folly.
