Well this is rather quaint! A while ago I sent David Hurst (aka Model Engine Works) drawings for the S&S trams in as-built and rebuilt forms and he promptly turned out some CAD. Fast forward more months than I'd like to admit and I ran off a pair as a test on my printer. I've finished the rebuilt one for now, pending adding a few details like the pipe which goes from the cab to in front of the smokebox- possibly for sandboxes or a governor system? It's a very nice design and I am looking forward to working on the as-built version as well!

The phone thing is just an edit feature in my gallery/camera roll, I've got a new phone which is a relatively up-to-date android. I'm sure there are apps you could download which give the same effect if you don't have it. It took a little bit of doctoring to get right as the phone struggled to detect the wall behind the layout as sky. Luckily my phone deemed enough wall to be sky-like for me to just crop the image closer to Boxhill. It's worth noting Blanche is under a real sky, not an edited one!

I've been playing a funny feature on my phone which can replace the sky in photos with more attractive skies... Useful for Ireland's weather (I'll get my coat) or for adding a virtual backscene to a layout photo!

Gosh, I can't believe it's really been since November that I haven't posted! To be fair to me, I haven't had much Irish stuff on the go of late, I've been unfortunately distracted by industrial and LBSCR. That being said I absolutely haven't forgotten about the superior railways over the channel I got to see our own Mr Holman at the Tonbridge show fairly recently, which was nice. I got another play at the controls, which was great fun! Seen here is a 009 loco of mine on Chris O'Donoghue's layout at Tonbridge:

Looking fab David and wishing Mrs H well. If I may offer a slight piece of constructive commentary, I think your water could benefit from a few ripples, if it is possible to add them at this stage. I like the effect of the seaweed, perhaps some more brown tones mixed in could look good to represent kelp/decaying seaweed washed up against the wall?

I believe the P4 society or whoever makes P4 parts also make 21mm gauge wheelsets. I've seen Fowler 4Ps as jeeps in 00 gauge, not 21mm. I think you might be looking at a whole new chassis at that point given the cylinders/valve gear!

Bear in mind that Leader and Bertha are being made by KR Models, who seem to specialise in doing weird stuff. Fingers crossed they consider CC1 at some point! In terms of sales, we have seen 108 replies of enthusiasm in this thread (this one not included) but I do wonder if a company made a new-tooling Irish wagon, whether there would be the 3,000+ sales required to make it financially viable. A new livery on an existing product is much easier to do, and can drop the required sales down to 500 or less.

Easily do-able with the 3d printer. What slightly annoys me is the large gap between the middle and rear coupled axles for the firebox, not present on the real 850. Still, beggars can't be choosers and it's a good representation. Perhaps an N class 2-6-0 chassis would be more useful for an accurate 850?

This looks like it would do: General white/black/white Lining (fox-transfers.co.uk) I'd probably paint a thin line of black on the tanks and then use the individual white lining to cover the edge. Plan will be to use the green rattle can I used for my CIE coaches. Would this lining set also be useful for MGWR green? My J72 bash will receive that livery, and it's a bit of a large and expensive product for just one loco.

I'll raise you two years for an N-drive chassis! Cor, a 4-4-0 in pre-grey livery with matching coaches, there would be a sight!

Me too, though lack of supporting locos for non-CIE will be an issue for convincing Hattons there are the sales there. Best get on with some steam, IRM!
