Part 1 of my trip to Germany and Austria in March are now uploaded. This clip shows a preview of the new DB BR245 diesel locomotives soon to replace the BR218's on the passenger routes. They were stabled in Kempten Hauptbahnhof when this show was taken...
More videos from my part 1 of my trip are available on my channel at youtube.com/deutschbahn
Yeah set 1 to set 6 are fitted with TPWS and AWS for use on NIR. They are also unique not showing the Irish Rail "Tricolour" logo icon beside the "Irish Rail, Iarnrod Eireann" text due to controversial reasons if they run across the border as far as i know.
Interesting to see which will replace the DD's when they are overhauled. It will bring a bit more variety to northern line come the summer anyway. 3000 class, more 29000 class, maybe even the odd ICR
How the north wall has changed so quickly baffles me. Look of this picture on google maps with no mk3's in the foreground! Will those 7 tracks in the foreground be removed once the mk3's get shifted I wonder?
Irish Rail 29000 class no.29012 has got the new livery as well as 29017 seen in this video passing Laytown for Drogheda at 09:33 on 22/5/14. 29017 passed with the new livery later. It appears the logo "stickers" are falling off in some places of 29017 already!
Depending on how soon Irish Rail redo a new timetable, could be next year. Usually there is only small changes to freight when new timetables come in. Sometimes they tend not to run on schedule between Drogheda and Navan though.

I'm not too sure about the services from Drogheda to Tara Mines on the continuation services times on Friday or Sunday @15:15 and @20:27. I think they run Sunday night or Monday morning. Hope this helps.
086 passes Hazelhatch & Celbridge today at 10:58 carring HOBS autoballister wagons to North Wall.
More available from today at http://www.youtube.com/deutschbahn. Nice one btw gm171 of the DFDS, great location to film!
I agree. I think the livery looks very well done. I would change the darker shade of green on the sides to a grey colour as well as the front buffers on the first coach. I don't think Irish rail will be painting the ICR's anytime soon though
