Not sure why you want this (although I can guess). As you're on "The Island" buy it from the RPSI and benefit the preservation world!

No problem supporting the RPSI, big problem supporting my bank as the RPSI charges in sterling and customers have to pay the bank's handling fees for the privilege when purchasing from the south!

    Hi all,

Does anyone know when the new Murphy Models 201s and Mark 3s are going to be coming out?

    Regards Kian.

Was in Mark's Models on Saturday and they said October or after.

But that these will be after a new run of Craven's and MK1s.

In the last post you refer to various Narrow Gauge projects. They are all facing financial problems due to the impact of Covid 19 crisis. You also omit the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre who have launched an appeal for financial support and help due to the cash flow impact of being forced to close their Museum.

Don't forget the Suir Valley Railway, which, while not wealthy, is at least solvent thanks to the volunteers, a dedicated management team supporting the charity and the users of the local Greenway (who drink a LOT of coffee!!).

  4. Hi guys,

I am looking for information as to how semaphore signal poles would originally have been painted.

I believe the base and tops were usually black and the centre of the pole was white.

Was this the same for all railway companies? I know the DSER used lattice structures instead of poles, would these have used the same paint scheme?

In the 50s or 60s the silver paint was introduced I believe.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.
