Yeah I’m not entirely sure the DART to Drogheda will be a good idea though.
The Enterprise is typically always about 10 to 15 minutes late into Dublin every day because of DARTs. So extending would add atleast 30 to 40 minutes on to a journey.
I took the 1035 from Belfast to Dublin on 9th April & 4th November last year, the first one a DD, other one a 22000, and the DD was 20 minutes late into Connolly due to the DART.
During the ICR trip, It trailed behind a DART from Malahide so it was 16 minutes late as a result.
Mind you, on both the mentioned dates I returned on the 1900 to Belfast and there wasn’t a lot wrong except for a short delay. On the 4th November we were 10 or 11 minutes late into Portadown so I could quickly transfer to a CAF.
The Belfast line is the same, if an Enterprise is heavily delayed it follows a stopper CAF to either Lisburn or Adelaide. Sometimes NIR make trains into an express to Belfast if a delayed Enterprise is close behind.
