  1. That's great news! Thanks for the clarification. It's the Kerry one I haven't got then. I must try to track down a copy. They are absolutely wonderful books.
  2. My wagon quest is slowly progressing thanks to a very helpful chap in Dublin... I'm also looking for a few locos to complete my roster. Most importantly, a couple of Supertrain A Class locos (non sound). It was 018 and 027 which were done in this livery. So if you have one (or more) languishing and in need of a new home, please let me know. After that, a couple of Black and Tan 141s would be nice too. Those aren't high priority until I've secured some A Class locos though. Thank you very much for looking. David
  3. Apologies for dragging this thread up from the past, but how many 'Rails through......' books are there? The West. North Kerry. Tipp. Wexford. Are those four the ones to date? I'm trying to complete the set and want to make sure I haven't missed one! Many thanks for any help you can provide. I really appreciate it. David
  4. Thanks chaps. I too have gotten some bits and pieces though the forum at reasonable prices. Patience is a virtue and all that...
  5. I'm on the hunt now, and also have a certain scout looking out for them too! Did you get yours from that well known auction site?
  6. Personally (and very selfishly), I'd love to see a G611. If the C Class does come to pass, I'd also love them to do another run of the A Class. This is a very selfishly 'want' as I was on a modelling hiatus when they were released, so I missed out. Although outside of my modelling timeframe, is there a market for pre-Bulleid opens and vans?
  7. Been listening about this on RTE today... https://www.rte.ie/news/regional/2026/0507/1572115-adare-train-station/ It shows that things can be done quickly sometimes. Hopefully, a test bed fo whether a permanent passenger service can be implemented on the Foynes line.
  8. Hi Martin. Apologies for the delay in replying to you. I'm very sorry abiut the rudeness. Thanks for you very kind offer, I've managed to source some magnesite wagons closer to home (and without any customs duty). But I'm really grateful for the offer. I've managed to source a lot of what i need (and will be able to get some remaining 'wants' through the same channel), but will update this thread with I'm looking looking when I've built my railway fund back up!
  9. I agree, but i cannot be sidetracked. Neither can my wallet. As a certain Mr DB has recently drained me of all my modelling fund with a transhipment of nice green boxes
  10. That would be an ecumenical matter......
  11. Enjoying the blue locos @ttc0169.... The colour all British diesels should be!
  12. Thanks as always Paul. I thought I'd seen photos of snail H vans with Supertrain locos, so that makes sense.
  13. Am I right in saying that grey flying snail stock (say H vans) were semi regular sights into the 1970s though?
  14. Agreed, reviews are important, but personally I'd rather trust a review in a published magazine than some random fella posting a video from his bedroom. I've never heard that term "rage bait" before, but it is rather apt. The world seems angry about everything, all of the time! Increasingly, I think I am in the minority though. I don't go in for video content at all. I prefer images and the written word. However, that's clearly against the grain as YouTube seems to be the place where it's all at these days. I use YouTube for old sport clips and music.... Not toy trains
  15. Unfortunately, that's life....
  16. I challenge you to be the first to adapt the IRM Dick to 21mm gauge
  17. As others have said, I think the OP has misread the room here with the original post. Ultimately, without Accurascale taking this line, Heljan wouldn't exist. I had no idea who Jenny Kirk was. I avoid anything model railway related on YouTube. I certainly don't need "influencers" telling me what to think. There are an awful lot of self-opinionated folks around....
  18. Thank you ever so much. I've got no excuse now! I just need a 4-wheel steam heat van to accompany it. I really appreciate you taking the time to set all that out for me. I learn so much every time I log on here! Thank you for being so generous with your time and knowledge.
  19. Went for £125 in the end. There was also an IR 141 which went for a similar amount. I'd say £125 is very reasonable.
  20. Thank you very much. I am intrigued in learning more, but I don't want to take up your precious time, so will endeavour to delve deeper.
  21. I might regret asking this, but which of the batch of IRM Park Royals would be suitable for an early/mid 1970s branch line? There's such a plethora to choose from!
  22. As a dedicated 'goods only' fella, I've not been drawn into these, but they do look wonderful. However, I must admit the temptation is growing to'just order one' for my rural branch line project......
  23. It will be interesting to see how much the price the 03 at if/when it does return. The 48ds too. Or maybe the smaller locos won't see that much of a price reduction. Yes please!!
