  1. Very nice. You've made a good start with what looks like a well made baseboard. That photo of 006 really whets the appetite! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this. Someone else will be along with far more knowledge and skill to give some assistance (like @Mol_PMB or @Horsetan!!), but as I understand some of the IRM rolling stock is easier than others to convert. I seem to recall that the earlier gypsum/ballast hoppers are a little trickier. But don't take any advice from a bodger like me! I'm sure the experts on here will be able to guide you. Good luck!
  2. Limited edition, but evidently the sound chip doesn't work..... All yours for a cool £399 sterling! https://ebay.io/m/Tz8I8i
  3. I find FOMO is replaces by SAAMO (sadness at actually missing out). However, that can be remedied by the strong antidote offered by a certain Mr DB of Dublin 5! He will take all of your money, but the sweet elixir of green boxes will ensure you're in a happy haze for some time
  4. This is an interesting listen... https://www.irishtimes.com/podcasts/in-the-news/will-dublins-metrolink-really-cost-19bn/
  5. Been there, done that. It's why I've spent the last couple of years playing catch up and trying to source long old out items. I'm trying to be more proactive nowadays. Trying... procrastination is in my genes!!
  6. Superb photos as always. Just so evocative. I expect some of the residents of Dugort are catching the train to the All Ireland this weekend to support Kerry! (well if we are messing with the space-time continuum!!)
  7. IRM cannot do anything of course. I just don't like these chancers with such a big mark up. It's life though.
  8. That is sad What shocks me is that they don't even wait for the dust to settles. A few weeks after selling out from directly they are touting them out on eBay. It must be frustrating for the IRM lads. I think it seems more pronounced and brazen because we are a small community. That Model Rail Emporium guy has loads of Irish stuff and is always adding new items.
  9. Thanks JB. That's an absolutely amazing resource
  10. I did bid, but needless to say my upper limit was nowhere near that!
  11. This one went for 90 quid https://ebay.io/m/G5aU85
  12. And as predicted the Park Royals have started to appear at inflated prices... God bless capitalism... https://ebay.io/m/AU9Hjd
  13. Thanks very much, they're fantastic. I'm planning a small cameo based on Askeaton, so the shots of the station there are really helpful.
  14. Interesting. If you don't mind, could you explain more please?
  15. RTE news: Portion of O'Connell Street site acquired for MetroLink https://www.rte.ie/news/2026/0708/1582288-metrolink-committee/ Ten year plus timescale for opening... optimistic? The Minister got a grilling on RTE Radio this morning!
  16. The weathered BnT B181 is very nice. I've already got that one though, so i shall resist!
  17. What livery was 112 in Paul?
  18. There were some Dapol repaint vans on the Rails site earlier. Just went to have another look and they've already gone! Someone has snagged them quickly... I was too slow!!
  19. Thanks that's very interesting. I can see the CPO process being a lengthy and complex one.
  20. There was about 700 pages of whinging in RM Web about that issue after the takeover. Don't ask my to summarise, I couldn't face reading it My wallet is thankful for the break!
  21. Speaking of that, there's an interesting podcast kicking around at the moment on the conspiracy that Gordon Banks was poisoned by the CIA in 1970. A contaminated bottle of beer legend has it. I don't know whether there is much truth in it, but it is an entertaining listen.
  22. That's a really interesting concept. It's definitely been talked of recently in the UK. In Oxfordshire perhaps? I've just got visions of angry people due to the 20kph speed limit being imposed. You know the type.
  23. Lovely to see some new postcards from Dugort Harbour. It's always inspirational stuff
  24. I think you're right. France look a level above everyone else. Although, I could easily see Spain, England or Argentina winning it if France implode. I do enjoy the tongue in cheek winding up of England fans, although some don't have much of a sense of humour. Being born and brought up in GB, and having a Geordie accent, I often feel a fraud compared to real Irish folks like yourselves. However, I am really really proud of my Irish heritage and love the country. But like generations of people, that interconnection of migration makes for complex relationships!
