  1. How on earth did he manage to sell that as a good idea to his wife/partner/significant other!?!
  2. Brilliant photos @ttc0169 - there's a lovely variety of wagons on show there.
  3. I've ordered a pair of Supertrain Cs. There may be a couple more to follow in due course, but I've made my initial bid!
  4. I'm with Mol, in that I suspect it might be to do with the fact there was a lot of messaging on a new account. eBay really doesn't like messaging, principally because it suspects that users are trying to arrange deals outside of their system. It's just about them maintaining a monopoly. Fingers crossed, it's just a temporary glitch and you will be unblocked in due course.
  5. The magnesite factory and the mine buildings are very impressive @mfjoc!
  6. You bet we are! I find this kind of thing absolutely fascinating. One day, I hope I am lucky enough to have a decent sized layout to do this sort of thing myself, but in the meantime, I love to follow others who have that ability to operate such a system. I like that 'American' concept of having a team of operators who each perform a role. I might crack under the pressure though!
  7. Interesting... https://ebay.io/m/lZPOOh
  8. Thanks for posting all the fantastic photos fellas
  9. What an amazing space @patrick! I love the plan. This is going to be a 'proper' railway I'm really looking forward to seeing this project develop.
  10. Thanks again. I need to do that on a couple of my 141/181s too.
  11. Cheers Paul. Always best to ask an expert!! Removing the DART flashes from 227 would be a bit of a fudge which might do a job for casual observers.
  12. It looks like 215 seems most suited to mid 1970s timeframe. But I may end up ordering all three Supertrain ones and backdating the other two!
  13. I've had a couple of weeks away from here ('real life' has been incredibly hectic), and I'm hit with this news when I come back!!! Thank you @Warbonnet and friends! How am I going to keep my excitement under control until 2028 though!!
  14. You've got a lovely space there @The Derry Road, and have made a great start. I'm looking forward to seeing the layout develop and can't wait to see full length trains running! Keep up the good work There's some very impressive track formations on offer there!
  15. The grain wagons look fantastic and really complement all your existing stock. Always love to see photos of the layout
  16. No need at all for you to revisit! They look absolutely superb! The rooves in particular are some of the best weathering I've ever seen. That prototype comment was meant for myself, and certainly not you... I need to remember to look at the real thing. Keep up the inspirational stuff
  17. That's a really interesting photo. It reminds me that we need to look at the prototype rather than weathering wagons to look like other weathered models! A friend of mine often reminds me that weathering follows the lines/streaks of rain water. I always try to think of this when I'm finishing models. Buildings as well as stock.
  18. Just echoing the above comments, what absolutely fantastic work! They look amazing
  19. That's wonderful JB. I'm so impressed
  20. Wagons, the hunt is nearly over. The final couple of IRM packs missing are... - 1287 brown CIE grain vans - 1009 gypsum hoppers pack D Oh, and that rogue single Magnesite wagon! Finally, if anyone has any Irish Freight Models (Dapol) or Mark's Models (Dapol) CIE(ish!) wagons they'd consider parting with, I could also be interested.
  21. Those bubbles are absolutely amazing!! Pleased to see you're making good progress. You've got a great space there.
  22. There certainly is. Seeing the prototype photos alongside show what a great job you're doing. It's definitely a model of a railway rather than a model railway (if you know what I mean!).
  23. Just a note, but if anyone else is looking for @jhb171achill's North Kerry book, one has appeared on eBay in GB: https://ebay.io/m/kr4jjj It's a wonderful book! As they all are in the series.
