  1. Lovely job Darius, but are you not worried that the finer details like the handrails etc. are going to suffer when the friend's grandson gets his hands on them. Depends on what age the grandson is I suppose. He could be in his twenties or thirties for all I know
  2. NUTS! Again......................
  3. Lovely
  4. I drive everywhere. Last time I was on an Irish train was August 1987. And I can't remember my last bus journey. Probably around the same time. I kid you not
  5. See what you did there. And yes you're right. It's a bag of nuts for over 40 quid.. Crazy stuff Maybe, but still. As long as people with more money than sense keep paying these kinds of prices, this price gouging will never end.
  6. It's not even well made in fairness. Signage above cab is a mile back from front of body (body too thick). And the back lights are not even symmetrical, back reg plate is all over the place, headlights are sh**e. Shall I go on?........
  7. Who in their right mind is gonna pay that kind of money for the D415. It's a bloody toy bus!
  8. Sickener
  9. Is the guy in the third pic trying to race the train?
  10. Mine is definitely a home layout David @Colonel. It is 13 foot by 9 and made as described above. Wouldn't fancy trying to lift it anywhere
  11. The ol canal is getting crowded
  12. @GNRi1959, my baseboard is made of 18mm MDF and I have never had a problem with it moving/ shrinking/ swelling or warping. It is based in a room in my home so not exposed to conditions that would come with it being in a loft or shed. The frame under is 70 x 30 red deal (probably overkill). But to answer your question , no I have never had any problems with MDF. I wouldn't use WBP (water bonded plywood). It warps like crazy and actually it is never flat from day one in my experience. In my opinion the use of 70x12 battens on edge sounds okay if you use enough cross members. Hope this helps (I'm in the same game by the way) Derek
  13. Thought I was missing something there. Then I copped it "the mighty diesel whines". Slow me......
