So ive decided I will buy 1 or 2 points every week to get everthing i need to build the trackwork for around connolly shed Now about connolly, im gonna double check and see if my printer at home can print in colour If not, ill try my local library as thats a back up option
-
Ive LEDS already and i can get them cheap almost anywhere and i would get one like the ones i already have that change colours which can be cool and then have a lamp with a scope to help detail either parts/kits or decals is what i plan or my desk Im also been thinking abt getting a proper sturdy desk and chair, for the desk something like an old office desk that i could do up with built in shelves and for the chair ill get either an old office chair or a gaming chair
-
They dried out perfect and i will show my process sunday of me detailing my coaches as i will get some black and brown spraypaint Im working with one coach at a time

I do need to work on my lifting as where my desk is it’s quite a dark spot I’m sketching out an idea of how to tackle this problem as it’s annoying especially dealing like today I plan to have LEDs on the board of the bedroom circuit above the desk to give me lighting in a better angle to work on as the lil colourful ones are “aesthetic” but downright as they can’t last half an hour before they start to die even with fresh batteries and aren’t bright enough

So I decided to make this as a side thing from Connolly shed I currently got home and turned my desk into a paint shop And this was to pimp out these 2 tri ang coaches I had lying around that my mam got me years ago I picked up a racing green spray from marks and gave it a good smooth coat as Simon told me it was the closest I could get to a CIE green Surprisingly turned out great as it was first time ever spray painting/detaining a model before Came well prepped with the paper stand, goggles and 2 old face masks from Covid but cracked a bit of the plastic which looked bad but worked around it just fine as you see below with the little strips of masking tape Currently, the paint is drying and will be fitted and then eventually decaled after I spray the roof black and the inside brown as I’m replacing a laminate(well badly attempting) Hope and love to post all my shenanigans of modelling up here in the future

Picked up some bits in rathcoole Looking pretty daft with track sticking out my bag I realised now that I buy tracks and them ballast as realising at marks the points are expensive Will work on Connolly when I get home but stuck for replicating the roof
-
Thanks @derek Im always looking for a cheaper option that’s always as good as a expensive product But I’m planning on using cardboard but unsure as plan in the future to detail the inside of the shed when the circuit is put up with the corkboard, track and ballast laid out
-
I’m going to buy a tub of ballast tomorrow in marks in Hawkins st not as awkward to get to by public transport I did go find some amazing treasure today And whilst I’m in marks, I’ll have a nosy for some red brick sheets for Connolly shed and some other goodies I also plan to wire lightposts on the tracks and leds where my workbench is when the board is obviously put up I will sketch out what i mean
-
Ofcourse gents Tomorrow after my exam as of today ive finished up school, im going to be swinging on down to marks in town to pick up a tub of basalt so when the carpender comes around and gets the wood done, I can get straight to it with the basalt, track, nails and main masterpiece, the shed By the time he comes around id say for certain ill have connolly shed built and maybe detailed Now im getting my laptop back tomorrow as it was in need of repair, I will then open up Anyrails and get working on a birds eye view of the track work to give a better visual presentation

What book is that from?

Thanks @jhb171achill I was familiar with the condition of the body seeing them in person and remember looking at the video of them being moved from heuston to inchicore, they looked so fragile even at such a low speed It mightn't be likely and could end up like what the RPSI did with a hunslet they had But would be brilliant if the remaining 6 do get preserved especially hearing on trackwork being done as of now Also wondering what lines/routes they are banned from doing?
-
Rememeber when they would run them with the cravens once Be nice to see them back up on railtours and branches but mightnt be likely due to their condition And 2 were sold off to maam cross not too long ago But only time can tell

Whilst I’m here gents Which size of basalt should I choose to get as I’m ordering 4 large bags for abt 8-9 ish quid from temu(a Chinese e commerce website for cheap stuff) which isn’t too bad for modelling stuff And I will be looking around at a lot more websites like temu especially when my laptop gets its memory back in it seeing as I’m buying a lot of what I need but also have a parents if I need them too but also don’t wanna be stinging off them iswell ofcourse

I got my hands on a strip of flexitrack to show the carpenter what it’s like as I’m not after sharp corners and want it to be somewhat oval It’s the track with the 60 cent coin standing on Im also planning to be adding a pre-made layout that was formally a display to the opposite side on my room from Connolly shed
-
Idk if these have been sent already but if not Here’s some I picked up at my local station right as I sent this
