After coming home this afternoon I got to work Problems leech onto me when it comes to setting up tracks no matter how big or small and thankfully it was only one Lima tracks didn’t connect to the power track and made wood seem more conductive So I replaced them with horny bread track cleaned the tracks and dog hair before placing them And for something so complicated yet so worth it, it runs smoother than butter IMG_4391.mov IMG_4393.mov IMG_4395.mov
  4. Been on the scout on how the old moyasta mk3s are doing at their new home

  7. Any good doner mk3s that he an identical body to the kit mk3s that ran here?
  8. theres always wood like the heritage lines in the states use on their western 4-4-0s But wood does burn quicker compared to coal
  9. Thanks I was curious as we bought former HSTs and BREL mk3s from the UK and wondered if they were put up for sale i was told by Johnaton from DCDR and niall from tailte whos also from dcdr at SDMRC show that the mk3s and 6105 are at glamping sites in the Uk Im unsure if others that went to the Uk were to heritage lines if not the mainline
  10. 071.mp4 Here’s more from photographers and spotters that I had saved months back the only one I know is my own and that’s the model with IE black and silver 082 Was there any shipped to be used on the British main line like for HSTs or bought by the likes of LNER
  11. Here’s more From David Walsh and a few other photographers and spotters that names I’ve forgotten Again feel free to correct me
  12. I had a root around of just some pics I saved most are from David Walsh but I also have Mike Hughes, ciaran cooney and one or 2 other photographers There are some more around 2013/14 from a mate of mine sent onto me at north wall and Waterford
  13. Here’s one of the mk3s 7171 awaiting to be shipped to England Any clue where 7171 and the other mk3 is as of now? Photos not mine I think it might be David Walsh feel free to correct me
  14. Was talking to paddy at blackrock show I asked him abt plans on redoing hobs he said he didnt have any The mk3s like a lot of us cant wait to get our hands on them, forgot when but i remember him telling me he was at moyasta measuring marts and had his grandson help get into the awkward parks of the rolling stock
  15. Good on u Someone needs to get that cowboy off that bull
  16. Idk if anyone has pictures of 6105, restaurant car and standard mk3s being delivered to their glamping site

  19. That is intresting I remember being in inchicore in 2018 and seeing a mk3 gen van i dont know the number as i was only 10
  20. Completely agree If those gricers and 12 year old trainspotters were in here, they be loads of "they all should of been pweeservedd" bs and have 0 logic abt it even it being something worth investing in and the cost of getting it to a heritage line and maintaining it
  21. Location is a good point most logical is inchicore Ofcourse as DCDR is stuffed as it is with preserved stock and for the demand for more, its not exactly critical but also worth keeping volunteers hands dirty weather it be the RPSI DCDR or someone else in the future Below is the pic of 162 before it got chopped up it was very filthy inside both cabs and all that was left was the body and bogies like what @228RiverOwenboy said it had been stripped of all valuable/useful parts and 175 in Connolly taken during work experience few days before slieve gullion did the maynooth run
  22. This topic is about where the mk3s went and where they were scrapped from push/pulls and dining cars to standard and EGV generators all from HST's BREL's and in kits at inchicore Personally Mark 3s were nostalgic growing up seeing them all lined up awaiting scrapage or be sent to england from the point square shooing centre cafe next to the cinema which did and still does have the best view of the yard Even though there final days of service and awaiting the hungry scrapman, they are still admired apon to this day From what i know 4 EGVs are on the enterprise and the 3 at Moyasta are gone to a glamping site(s) in the UK I know others were bought back by BR and other privatized lines but where exactly?
  23. Sure look wont be surprised the likes of 171 175 and 177 follow the same path but they might get bought out by an anonymous enthusiast or DCDR catch one or 2 before the scrapman like pokemons
  24. Brilliant layout of the withdrawal dates and info I wonder what lead to the decision of 144 to be scrapped I remember seeign 162 before being diced up and it was noting but the body and bogies a year ago ill see if i can find a photo for u
  25. Booterstown also got a bin witht he plug logo on it very few across the country That’s the door u are on abt and the bin next to the old waiting hut and caught a modern bin with the old dart logo on it
