Second, the MPV cannot negotiate certain curves on the network, reason why it's parked up in Kildare so often. That's what happens when a narrow gauge manufacturer tries his hand at broad gauge...It'll never become the replacement weedsprayer. 

Third, there are two MK3 coaches below in inchicore slated for conversion to Per Way Duties, which may or may not happen. One was to be a crew van, the other a dispensing wagon, a restaurant and EGV conversion iirc. Last time I spied them they were growing algae....Now, til I get back in my cupboard researching hinges and locking bars on ISO containers and all manner of exciting things...

From an architectural point of view, the capture of the buildings is stonking good. The trackwork even could pass for 21mm. I'm only looking at this on mobile, but I'm goddamened looking forward to seeing it on the big screen when I get home. This is epic good, and deserves a spread in a magazine.

They are British Standard codes, for "Method for tensile testing of metals", and a "Specification for carbon steel forgings above 150 mm ruling section"...

18 B 29 is the colour code, from the BS 4800/5252 Colour Range, and is described as "Raven". Where is she now, would love to throw the RAL cards up against her to get a number. 

If this is the location on google maps, they appear to be two remnants of piers for a bridge.

I've guesstimated the old alignment on the 1948 O.S. Maps and it appears to line up.

The missing brake gear half is a bit of a nuisance all right, but you could easily scale the drawings. Thanks for posting, love the old planked stock.

No dust coats, but rakes of porter... 

All of the above included, but strictly 21mm, along with a "static" model for just the frames in use as a bridge on a golf course, which should be a big seller.  Rumours abound that they tested the Black and Tan on it also, so we'll get Noel on board at least. 

I assume the first paint colour was stock Steam Loco Grey? Whatever they had to spare?

The second shot is from a set of slides that I spotted on eBay, and was keen to acquire, only for a certain Weshty to hoover it up! R. 

Our Company Workplace Policy on Clothing states - "Clothing that reveals too much cleavage, your back, your chest, your feet, your stomach or your underwear is not appropriate for a place of business, even in a business casual setting."

At no point had we envisaged arse cleavage being an issue. We hole-heartedly apologise.

A rib of evergreen styrene across the body, and some packing out of the inner side strakes should be easy enough. The strakes are, funny enough, the same dimensions that you will find with Evergreens strips... How that occurred, I've no idea.

Ral 2011 is the actual MK3 "tippex" orange. It, however, does not scale at all well on the Mk3 models, has a real "bloom" to it. The shade as picked by Murphy Models for the 141/181 is the standard that I work to. Next time I'm out in HQ, I'll get the RAL cards up against a 181. There's pages upon pages of stuff on the effects of UV light on early paint as on MK2 and 3, deterioration of top coats, the effect of daylight, colour scaling, the list is almost endless.

There's a fair time period between those two produced models, both from two different manufacturers, and the trouble is the colour conversion system used in China (PCS?). RAL colours are interpreted into a native version, translated to models via airbrush, or sometimes coloured plastic pellets and the results can vary. A few weeks ago, Rapido Models, had to bin several thousand loco shells, because the other factory producing batch B, had interpreted a green slightly differently, and if you had a double headed train, there would have been a serious discrepancy. 

There is no "right" colour. It is a minefield that I cross, with what feels like a combine harvester at full pelt, at least once a month, and it's terrifying. 

Paddy's 181 - colour match that, you'll be fine.

Provided motors, wheels and everything was included, count me in. Going around the houses to get wheels from A by filofax, and motors from B by carrier pigeon, and all the other stuff by smoke signal, at an unknown time and date would be a deal breaker for me. Also 21mm.

The luas serves both Heuston and Connolly, 15 minutes between them. Are you getting mixed up with the metro North idea? 

I've a 35 gig library that I started assembling back in around 2001 or so, with all the sub folders of buildings, stock and so forth, with the intention of doing drawings and scratchbuilding, and most of them were from the old fotopic site. After it's demise, many users didn't join flickr or smugmug, so are lost to us all. I don't mind screengrabbing if I have to, but they are all for research purposes, not for sharing, and as I've seen some langers do on eBay, sticking up for resale, despite them clearly not owning them. 

There's also the distinction of the photographer - some love the gricer top and tail shots (vast majority) and some take the odd detail or profile shots, or random infrastructure. As long as there's a photo, somewhere, whether downloadable or not, I'm a happy bunny.
