I've spent the last number of weeks working away on this signal box, in between my current projects sitting on the bench.
The balcony and steps combo wasn't my cup of tea, so some chopping, sanding and gluing was required.
Along with that, I also added lighting and various bits and bobs to the interior.
Then, some painting and weathering to finish.
Job done.

You don't need to be an expert on all things CIE. If something continues to let you down, you look elsewhere. GM had a reputation for reliability, so they took a chance and it worked. The relationship went on from there, the rest is history. Reliability will always save you money long term.

Love that legendary sound

Another outstanding model yet again in my opinion, and another welcome addition to the irish scene. Now, I shall bite my tongue and retreat to a dark corner of the house

Lovely stuff Noel. Don't think I've seen footage taken from that side of the layout before. Station looks class.

Enough fertiliser there to prevent a war, and enough Guinness to keep the troops well oiled for years of a long campaign.
I probably went a little trigger happy when ordering, but they're that good. Have to admit if there was another run, I'd definitely invest in some more.

They are seriously tasty popeye. Excellent paintjob and weathering. Definitely takes them to the next level.

Compared to other models, the bodyshell on the 201 is easily removed. The only thing I'd suggest is, don't try lift it straight off when it becomes loose. Otherwise you could damage the wiring for the cab lighting.
If you need to remove the body fully, the wiring for both ends just unplug from the board. If you're happy enough to leave it, there should be enough wiggle room just to lie it down on its side while still attached.

I am continuing to upload video from 2000-2006 with an instalment each day. Todays is Drogheda 22May 2003 with cement , up & down Tara's and up and down 'liners' plus a rake of bubbles detached from the Belfast-Dublin Liner and then shunted by a pair of 141's onto the Navan line.
141 and 144 shunting the bubbles. Does it get any better. As always, priceless footage.

Two likes, including mine. Has anyone else on here watched this? The Bo-Bo alone deserves more.

Thanks, that saves a lot of hunting through the internet.
I have some HO stuff, it usually looks ok as long as it's not sitting beside something that gives it away.
Agree Popeye. Really like the look of these, and they definitely pass the test sitting amongst 1:76 scale stock.

This is one of the most interesting threads on here right now.
Couldn't agree more. Great use of some relatively inexpensive models. Always nice to see some old school modelling.

Another bundle of joy arrived last week, and another big congratulations are in order to the lads at IRM.
A selection of photographs taken earlier at a busy Lakeview rail freight yard sees retro liveried locomotive 071 arrive from the MPD after refueling to work the bogie spoil train consisting of spent ballast from the recently extended freight yard and some life expired concrete sleepers,
The fourth photo shows the interior of the cement/fertilizer store which has been fitted with interior lighting-it has really added to the scene,
Forklifts LV1 and LV2 are busy loading cement and Guinness kegs while the bulk cement bubbles are unloaded,
Pictures speak louder than words.....enjoy....
Love what you've done with the yard Noel. The fertiliser store really finishes things off nicely.

Nice surprise in this mornings post. IRM accessory pack; If I counted correctly 36 pallets loaded with Fertiliser bags. Will look well on layout loading bays and stacked in goods yard waiting for next fertiliser train. These are beautifully made and finely detailed. That's approx 800 bags of fertiliser on each wagon. I understand Guinness keg loads will also be available in the future.
Why start another thread, when this accessory pack has already been posted in a thread you previously commented in. I'm sure you're already aware of this, and will probably reply with a meaningless emoji or gif.

Ratio railings been installed on the Docklands platform..
2701 ARROW DMU awaiting a signal to depart alongside the newly installed Irish Rail Litter Bins "Bruscar"
Its Thirsty work platform vending machines fit in nicely I think..
More Modern era An Post post boxes created too which will be dotted around the layout and future town along side the more traditional pillar style ones.
A handmade EIRCOM phone box and yes they still will accept your call cards
Public Litters Bins added too..
Is it just me, or does the lad holding the black bag look like he's had one too many. He's obviously spent the afternoon in Fitzgerald's.

If someone put up this model as an example of their work I would be very sensitive in my comments or would choose not to comment at all , however the fact that someone is putting this model up for sale then I think we are free to comment and the if seller has a hard enough neck to sell something like this than I think they would be pretty impervious to any comments on here.
Lighten up for christ sake. I was taking the piss.
