On this day we celebrate the 37th anniversary of the establishment of Irish rail we turn back the clock to 02/02/1987 on Tara junction.
That, just looks the business. Brilliant stuff as always, Noel.

Where did you get the info on the decoder hatch? From Paddy himself? I couldn't find that anywhere.
The silence is deafening.

Saw 217 in Cork on Monday and it looks very weathered
And that looked like it was dipped into a bucket of shit, and left out to dry too?

Looks like you've had some additional weathering carried out on 085 @Rob I was never a fan of the factory finish on that loco myself.

The IR livery looks to be proving popular. Great to see.

Lovely stuff, Noel. Those IRM fertiliser pallets and loads are great for around the layout. They really complete a yard scene.

While looking for something else,I found a spare MIR MX two axle wagon kit, which was turned into a barrier wagon for the oil tank rake of wagons.
Lovely job, Noel. Nice use of an old kit.

They are a good 30 quid a loco more expensive than I had "psychologically budgeted" for. I had a figure of ca. €200 in my head, given the A was more of a loco for €190, but factoring in the (presumably?) much smaller run size with these ones.
Likewise, Phil. I had assumed they would come in around the 200 mark, so I was a little surprised when the price was eventually confirmed. Plus, there's the added cost of the decoders.
I have to admit, I was reluctant after the announcement. It got me thinking, do I actually need them? I have a mixture of the IR/IE liveried locomotives from the first run and they're a superb model.
Anyway, I had a think. The fear of missing out on these, and then regretting it, pushed me to pull the trigger. Glad I did now.

Eagle Eye Cherry here, well spotted!
Would be handy to know if somebody else is also offering the etched wipers.
True. They're always handy to have in the spares box. I think I might of cleared SSM out, last time I ordered them.

Nice container. I like the colour. Get the silver paint out for the locking bars.
I'm sure your probably doing nothing else anyway, other than sunning yourself

Retro liveried locomotive 073 is in the wheel lathe shop at Tara junction getting its wheels reprofiled
Lovely stuff, Noel. Have you swapped out the wipers too? They look similar to the SSM offering.

Always nice to see the GP38-2. They're still going strong after all these years. Love that CP livery.

Nice work. You've really captured that heavily weathered look from the 90's.

Look forward to it. 080, along with 077 are my personal favourites from the MM071 releases. 080 in particular, looks great with the Mk2's.
