  2. I have the following items for sale Rake of 4 x Dapol Pocket Wagons converted to Irish ones. 3. Identical? 5151 has a door in the middle!
  4. Sean, If you are in Dublin any time, I have a can of RAL2011 which should have enough paint left for you to finish the job. You are welcome to it. Send me a message with your contact number if you are interested. Ger.
  5. Wrenn, Sorry about that, it obviously changed from when I posted it. They were available. Must have been snapped up quickly at that price. Ger.
  6. Anyone looking to make a rake of Oil Tankers http://www.themodeller.com/Products/20T-BP-Tanker-Wagon---00-Scale-Plastic-Model-Kit__DAP-C034.aspx
  7. God that brings back memories. My Father used to send me up to Monck Place on the bicycle from Ringsend. Got my Lima J50 0-6-0 repaired when the funnel screw holder snapped. Think it cost IR£5 (EXPENSIVE BACK THEN) to repair. Anyone remember McBirmeys on Aston Quay? Bought my first CIE Class 33 there for IR£10 and as it was near Christmas they had this huge layout upstairs and I got to try out the Loco before taking it home. Also Easons Toy Dept. on the first floor was great for Hornby accessories. Ger.

    D Class build

Here's the finished D301 well almost. I need to apply some more weathering. Thanks to SSM for the decals. [
  9. Hi Kirley, Just looking at that wiring brings back some nightmares. I know it's probably too late, but some advice for future reference would be to pair up your wires either with cable ties or some tape and label each pair with a number and then make a master list. For example Pair No.1 from CDU1 Terminals 1+2 to Point Motor 1, etc. Just a suggestion. Love the layout. Ger.
  10. Looks like there is a wire from both sides of the Motor Bogie and also the non powered Bogie which are linked up via a small circuit board and fed back to the Motor via the Capacitor. Have a look at this Service Sheet for Class 73 http://www.hornby.com/downloads/locomotive-maintenance-sheets/?page=4. It's the sixth one down. It might take a while to figure out but I don't think there is any lighting wiring. To simplify it, if you joined the wires from Positive side of both bogies to one side of the motor and the same for the Negative wires to the opposite side of the motor, you have in effect 2 wires. They just link them via the circuit board probably to help with DCC. Ger.
  11. Thanks for the comments lads, It makes all the effort worthwhile. Mike that photo was pure fluke and not set up in any manner. Thanks Kirley, great to watch several of these come together on the forum. Hidden-agenda, yes they are working lamps (Weshty has them available on his website) and lastly Sulzer201, unfortunately I haven't made the move to DCC yet. Maybe soon, looking at all the great sound chips available and in use on this site. Thanks again, now on to the D Class. No rest for the wicked. Ger.

  13. Great job, it is hard work. Unfortunately all my LED's broke off, even the replacement ones. They are just too fragile even with a dab of glue on them. Hopefully will have B110 finished soon. Ger.
