GNRi1959 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Has anybody got any knowledge of when No.81 "CARRICKFERGUS CASTLE" was put into use on the Derry Road? I'm guessing it was post GNR(I) era and UTA.

I'm guessing it was post GNR(I) era and UTA. Actually more likely to be c1950. That’s certainly when it was on the Irish North. Didn’t know it was on Derry Road - wonder if its frames were up to it! seagoebox Posted May 2 Posted May 2 No. 81 Carrickfergus Castle was hired by the GN on 1st May 1952, until replaced by no 72 on 12th March 1954 which stayed until 29th September 1954, working mostly Belfast to Clones.
