ttc0169 Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Hi Heirflick, Those are hand operated points and in some circumstances they can be trailed through by locomotives etc without causing any damage,they are not connected to any CTC or signalling system,but are normally operated by the shunter. jhb171achill Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 If you watch a loco run round at Inch Abbey on the DCDR you will see a spring-loaded point in action - it is set for the passing loop and the loco goes through it from the platform road.
