Hunslet 102 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Great show at Perth this weekend, some great layouts on show with a nice Irish themed O gauge layout Castle Rackrent, lovely models with a great removable roof wagon the pick of them.Great trade support also and the space between the layouts was very user friendly,no problem for wheelchair access which was good to see.Best show for the viewing public in Scotland by far, well done to all involved. Old Blarney Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) heirflick, Found the following information on Castle Rackrent - follow the links:- http://home.btconnect.com/Enhance-Ecosse/ccastle.html http://kokutetsu-jnr.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/club-castle-rackrent-visit.html I had the pleasure of visiting this layout at the owners home five or six years ago. The complete layout is large. Each stations requires one or two people to man it, the trains are run to a set order and all train movements and duties are set out in the station instructions for each train at each station. All points and signals are operated using miniature leavers, furthermore, each train is accepted and dispatched using the correct bell codes from or to the sending and receiving stations. Hope this information is useful and that the link works. Edited June 30, 2014 by Old Blarney Quote
