As I have a few days off this week I thought it would be nice

to visit my favourite railway Waterford-Ballinacourty.I am including

a collection of Weed killer train photos taken by David Parks during

1985 and 86,along with some of my own photos taken yesterday and

back in 1993-96.The line was lifted from mid 90s till late 90s and I

found a lot a places impossible to photograph now due to the overgrown

conditions. The line once formed the former Mallow-Waterford which closed

in 1967,however the line reopened for the Quigley Magnesite works near

Dungarvan in 1970 untill it closed in July 1982.The only workings over the

line were weed killer trains ( the last ran in 1988) and rail recovery trains.

The last movement was in May 1990 with 146 and EM50 ran to Ballinacourty

on 6th and the 9th of May.
