Broithe
I had to buy some of these from the Train Man last week... ..my description of them as "earwigs" didn't help, but the Hornby packaging only calls them "Couplings" and gives the part number - is there an official name for this style of attachment? 0 David Holman
They look like small tension locks to me Broithe. Fairly discrete too.
0 Broithe
They look like small tension locks to me Broithe. Fairly discrete too. They are, but it's not a NEMS fitting - it seems to be specific to Hornby. I just wonder what I should call it. ..though, earwigs seems clear enough to me.. Handy things, even when not fitted in the 'correct' socket - it's easy enough to attach with a small screw and the claws can grip round a bit of the exposed thread. 0 Joe Keegan
They are from the Dapol / Mainline wagons . They are push fit to replace the earlier Mainline Phillips head screw tension lock coupling .
